DEW ACTION SPORTS TOUR!
So the last two days at the Dew Action Sports Tour have been orgasmic.
For those of you who really could care less I’ll just give you the basics:
+ We met and talked to Ryan Sheckler and Chad Fernandez
+ Ryan signed the back of my cell phone (pics of that soon!)
+ Saw Chris Doyle, Ryan Nyquist, Ryan Guettler, Dave Mirra, Chad Kagy, Koji Kraft, Colin Mckay, Travis Pastrana, Paul Machnau, Paul Rodriguez, Chad Fernandez, Eric Koston, Ryan Sheckler (obviously), Shaun White, Bucky Lasek, and a ton of other rad BMX riders, Skaters, and FMX riders
+Saw Unwritten Law and Smile Empty Soul. Like seriously we were 10 feet away from them
+ Did serious moshing
+ Saw a ton of people who looked like other people we knew, it was insane.
& other rad crap that I can’t think of right now.
Okay so I guess I’ll start off to tell you what the Dew Action sports tour is for those of you who don’t know. Basically it’s a BMX, SKB (skateboarding), and FMX (motocross) competition. They first started in Kentucky and are working their way through Colorado, Oregon, and all the way to Florida where the final competition is and they crown 1 winner for each sport. Each time they go to a new place they keep narrowing it down until they get to 1. During this they also have two concerts. It’s also a complete blast.
Thursday:
That was the first day and the best, okay well maybe not they were both stellar! Ashley and I ended up watching the skating the whole time which was amazing. We were standing right by the bar so we were like 2 feet away from the park area where they were skating.
After standing there watching it for a little bit we notice Ryan Sheckler and Shaun White just sitting up there with the rest of the skaters. We start freaking out and end up taking like 5 pictures of them. haha. In the end we ended up taking 23 pictures of Ryan Sheckler. Haha. I’ll post those and the rest of the pics later on in a picture post.
Also while we were standing there Chad Fernandez was going up the slope and fell while trying to grind. He gets up, looks at us, winks and smiles. He then came over later on and started talking to us. That was awesome. He became one of my favorites along with Ryan. They’re both uberly hot and extremely good at skateboarding.
That was all during the prelims and it was a couple hours in between that and the finals of park so we decided to go over to the motocross section to watch that, but nothing was going on so it was lame. We just were sitting there, talking, and what-not. I turn around for a sec and see a guy who looks exactly like Cory Weaver and Keith combined it was insane. I also saw like two other guys on Saturday who looked like them combined also. Two of the guys were super hot though, because Keith and Cory are hot, especially Cory.
Anyways around 6:30 we head back over to the skatepark to get good seats. We ended up seeing a couple guys we knew from Thunder Ridge and Taylor Adriance came later on. While we were sitting there these two guys came and sat buy us, one looked like a less hotter version of Colton. They were sitting there and kept looking back and smiling at us which was kind of weird but I was like whatever he’s still hot. Haha then they hold up this sign that says “Dew Me.” I thought that was so fucking rad so we ended up talking to them and they were cool. Right before the finals were about to start a ton of people came and were like all squished in, including this fucking annoying lady in front of me. So we went back to where we were earlier so we could be closer to them and not as squished.
After everyone’s first run Ryan Sheckler came over to where we were and started signing stuff for people. Ashley and I were in the very front right by him, but he was off to the side. Everyone just rush over there and he signed over 50 things, easily. I didn’t think we’d get anything signed because he was there for about 10 minutes and he would have to go on soon. He eventually started moving our way and we asked him to sign our cell phones, and he did. After he did that I was speechless. My legs started shaking really bad at first and then my hands did. We took pics but like 5 of them didn’t turn out because we were shaking so bad and we like cut off his head or whatever. Haha. That was honestly one of the most amazing things ever and completely made my summer. I honestly thought it was a dream and was just waiting to wake up from it, ya know? It was so surreal. Thinking about it now still gets me all giddy and speechless. Hehe. I’ll post pics of my phone too along with all the others.
So Ryan ended up getting first place in the finals and Chad got 3rd which is sweet so they’re both going to Oregon. I would kill to be in Florida for the champs when they are. I’m going in two weeks but unfortunately they won’t be in Florida when I am. Boo you whore!
Friday:
Ashley and I went with Dayne, which was awesome because he’s such a hottie and is completely stellar. Dayne also knows this guy who was running it so we could of gotten in for free, free food, and met everyone privately and everything. Unfortunately, the guy wasn’t working because his mom was in town or something. That was lame and a bummer. It was still awesome though.
So whenever we got there we ended up meeting with CJ and his friend, I think his name was Xavier? Anyways they were near the front of the line so we just jumped in line with them haha and we were one of the first people in it. That was definitely a plus.
We just walked around for a little bit whenever we first got in there until about 3P and then we went inside and watched BMXing. That was so awesome. I got Dave Mirra’s whole run on video on my cell phone. It’s sweet, I was expecting him to be better than he did though so that was a bummer. He didn’t end up making it into the top 10 he was like #26 or something. I was like wtf?!
After watching that for about an hour or so we left because there were a ton of moths in there and I hate moths they scare the shit outta me. Plus Dayne was telling me that they were gonna come kill me. Haha I was like clinged onto him every time I saw one. Ugh it was scary.
Anyways we ended up watching Motocross which was amazing. I love watching extreme sports and seeing them up close in person is amazing, especially FMX. The tricks they were doing were amazing I couldn’t get over it.
Once that was over we ended up going back inside to watch the BMXing again to see who was going to Oregon and all that crap. First off Ashley and CJ chose these crap ass seats so Dayne and I went to sit where were in the first place which was like 4798734x better. After about 15 minutes they realized we moved and sat by us. I wasn’t as into this one I think simply because I was too amped on the concert so we left about 9ish so we could get to the concert early.
The concert was honestly the best part of the day I have no where to begin. We saw Unwritten Law and Smile Empty Soul which were both amazing. The best part was the moshing. We didn’t mosh at Smile Empty Soul, they were the first to play, because I was too nervous. When Unwritten Law first started playing there were about these 5 guys all dressed the exact same, jumping up and down, head banging, ect. right next to us who were moshing when Smile Empty Soul was playing. Dean started pushing Ash and me into them trying to get us to mosh. Haha. The first time he pushed me I sorta bent over to stop myself, but I still moved forward and I ended up stopping right next to this guy who was jumping up. He came down and flung his elbow right into my head and that hurt like a mother fucker. Haha another time when we got pushed into them I ended up right in the middle of all 5 of them or whatever. This one guy patted me on the shoulder and said “it’s okay.” Like I was a fucking 6 year old who couldn’t find their mom. I was like wtf!? Haha that was funny though. Ashley and I also started jumping and head banging with them which probably looked hilarious because they all had black shirts on with tan shorts and then I had a white tank with a pink one under it and jeans while Ashley had a pink tank and jeans on. They were cool though. Then at the end we went into the huge mosh pit.
After the concert ended Ashley and I went to go get our purses which we had this one guy who worked there hold. When we were walking out Dayne and Xavier started skipping with our purses and showing us what a “gay guy’s mosh pit” would look like it was fucking hilarious! “I’m gonna hit you with my purse, bitch!” *bitch slap* *skips off*. It was so funny haha.
I have a ton of bruises from the mosh pit though last night and more keep coming out of no where. It looked like I got beat up. I have three on my left arm, one on my right arm, one on my ribs, a huge bump on my head and two on my right thigh. It was all completely worth it though and I would do it again any day that was such a blast.
I’m so amped for the Warped Tour with Dayne next Sunday. We’re SO gonna do serious moshing and I get to meet The Starting Line for sure this time because he knows them. I’m SO stoked!
