if there's only one thing i've learned in life about people,
it's that you don't know them just by knowing things about them.
it's not what they tell you; it's the subconscious reason of why exactly they're telling you.
it's not just sharing what they think; it's the actual action of them sharing it with you.
it's not the easy things that make best friends and lovers.
it's the trust you give and the trust they reciprocate;
knowing that you have faith in everything they say.
it's the faith that from then on, everything between you and them, is the truth.
but skepticism gets the best of us, and we become unable to keep that faith.
because it's only human to believe the worst of everything, isn't it?
we push ourselves farther down than anyone could ever know why.
we'd rather hurt ourselves than ever feel at someone else's mercy.
we are our own heartbreakers; our own bullies.
but as we are, and will always be, forever losing,
can we not gain a knowing that in the presence of grace, love is eternal?
