Thursday night was such a blast!
I went to the Ra Ra Riot/ Toyko Police Club show, which was tons of fun. First, because the bands were great! Ra Ra Riot stole the show for me personally. And second, because my friend Billy was one of the "concert security" working at the front of the stage and he let me stand back stage. I met almost all the members of all the bands and they are all such fun people. I invited them to Roosevelt's, where we all got pretty drunk. Or at least, I was drunk. haha One of the members of Ra Ra Riot was flirting with me pretty profusely, it was nice. He wanted to keep hanging out even after Roosevelt's closed but I had to get up early the next morning so we didn't. :/ But they did tell me that they could get me into their showcase shows at SXSW. They actually messaged me yesterday:
"LORI, thanks again for showing us around last night! roosevelt's was a lot of fun. come say hi in austin- in addition to our showcase show, we'll be playing the onion party and also the rachael ray party. If you want us to get you into a show, message us before so we can meet up with you."
RAD! I feel like a little school girl right now. Not that I'm starstruck or anything like that, but because they're such great people that I actually ended up having tons of fun hanging out with.
Anyway, work sucked last night. It was sooo slow and people were pissing me off left and right. I was so cranky that they let me go home early. haha
So Gabe and I went downtown and just had a few drinks at Cin El Rey.
I leave to San Antonio tomorrow. I'll be there from Sunday to Tuesday and then in Austin from Wednesday to the following Sunday. I'm so excited to get away for a week!
Okay gotta wash my work clothes and possibly eat before work.
