So my last entry I thought God wanted me to stay at Sport Chalet. I dont know if I misunderstood that or misunderstood what happened next, but either way...
I put in my 2 weeks notice at Sport Chalet.
Now here's the story behind it:
Basically right now, theres 5 of us in the clothing department that have been working the longest. Everyone else just got hired within the last month. 4 out of the 5 (me included) are leaving. One of the people is our Department Head (the person in charge of the clothing department) and shes going to the Sport Chalet corp. offices. Then another person leaving is this girl Naomi whos been there over 3 years. She basically does everything. When something hard needs to be done or if I don't know how to do something, shes always the person I go to. Then next is Elise. She only works weekends, but itll still be hard without her. And then me. If I didn't leave...it would be me, and Dave. And then the rest is new people. Which now only includes 4 people, 2 of which work mornings. Also, I received my raise recently and it only went up 22 cents. So I make 7.72. All the new hires receive 8 or more. One girl started at 9! Wtf??
So now lets see how my work would be if I stayed:
All the projects that Naomi usually does would be handed to me. All the new people coming in would need to be trained by me. Since I'm one of the few that can work closing shifts, I'd be working practically every week night. And I'd be asked to do more. I'd have nobody to go to when I dont know anything. (Our managers dont usually know too much about my department, so theyre no help) During the Christmas season, the 2 weeks around it were open until 11 pm! Which means I'd prolly have to work until midnight. Then theres one night when the store is closing at midnight! So I'd be out at 1 am? I dont think so!
So I'm done.
Now is the stressful part...finding a new job.
I know its irresponsible to just quit with nothing to fall back on.
But I needed to get out right away before I was stuck.
