In a sudden need to eat healthier, I've decided to put myself on a much better diet. I'm tired of crash diets and avoiding foods; it just doesn't work for me. I don't want to lose weight: I want to maintain my weight and gain some much-needed vitamins. So tonight I started!
Dinner:
Rotisserie Chicken with Bow-Tie Pasta
I cooked the pasta to al dente, drained it and melted about a tablespoon of butter in the hot pasta. I mixed that together with garlic powder, and the already cooked (fresh from Foodtown!) rotisserie chicken. It was delicious. This was a play on a recipe I've seen before, but without tomatoes and all that other crap. I used a half a box of Barilla bow-ties and have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow.
Lunch (Thursday):
Spinach with Chicken and Other Stuff
Mixed up fresh baby spinach, bacon, hard-boiled eggs and chicken and seasoned with salt and pepper. I used to add lemon juice, but I felt it over-powered the other tastes and also made the bacon all soggy and such.
...and that's pretty much what I have planned until Friday. I know it seems plain but I'm still new at this healthy stuff >:|
