2 credits (painting and theory) and 2 distinctions (gold and silversmithing and 2D and 3D studies) over all for last semester, its pretty good condidering all that happened! im very happy with this. Especially cause im doing a double major in silver smithing and photogramaphy:) What suckx though is being half a point off a high distinction for jewllery...
half a point.
what really shits me is what they call 'mediation'.
for instance-3D studies i got a fully high distinction and 2D an 'almost high' distinction...however mediation (combining and altering marks according to everyone elses marks brought mine down.
this happened in first semester too...and being things like 1 point or half a point down from the next category like HIGH FUXING DISTINCTION.
bah, still- i know what i got in the end before mediation so *pokes tongue*

while recapping on this years travels up and down the east coast of australia-i came across this pic shot at about 22 km into a track up at Binna Burra on this amazing ridge (freakin high up too) that over looked the entire area we had trecked. i took a piss up on that ledge for the whole wide world) to see cause i was too fatigued to go behind a bush:$ i cant possibbly explain the feeling in this picture. but it has meaning right now. one is having the collapse physically on that rock while feeling completly and utterly accomplished mentally that i had walked and climbed for over 9 hrs and made it up to this ridge. i tell ya tho-looking at myself lying there i can almost feel the pain of my body and tears of that moment but can remember like it was yesterday-the utter happiness and triumph i felt.you can even make out the insect bites on my back that i didnt even know was there at the time. its great-but i guess its one of those things that will only mean somehting to me-no matter how i explain it. good times.
