He is not President of me! He is not...President...of me!

Remember that WTC poem of Ani's? I love that line. Anyhow, I'm about to begin a response to your fabulous emails and letters and BELIEVE ME when I say that I am way behind on this particular correspondence. Come to think of it, I'm behind on every correspondence I manage to keep. (Despite horribly bad efforts that amount to answering letters an average of three weeks late, I've been fortunate enough to correspond with people who, if they aren't very kind by nature, know enough of my nature to believe that any delay on my part does not stem from an unkind intension.) I love you, Cait. And I'm sorry that you would ever feel lonely, especially if any little effort to write you on my part would cheer you up as much as you claim it would. As you see, I am all for reinstating the livejournal. It's shameful that the last entry was yours from May 12, and I hope with this quick note to remedy that particular failing. (God, I can tell I've been reading Austen; can you?) Hannah is reading Pride and Prejudice for one of her AP English summer reading books (after I convinced her that it wouldn't be a sin to read a book that she'd already almost memorized). And I've been listening to her read it aloud, since we've been driving back from Little Rock, Arkansas. Anyway, I'm also read the first of the Jane Austen mysteries by Stephanie Barron. They're fictional stories that use real people and places in Austen's life to tell these murder mystery stories. And Jane is the main character! So I'm reading Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor right now. It's absolutely riveting! I normally never like mystery books, but heaven knows I would like the mysteries told in wordy English and set in almost ancient time. But there it is. I'm in the final pages and everything is coming out! Secret relationships between uncles and patrons and everything! Fascinating. Well, have a lovely day. And do be expecting plenty of notes and letters from me. I'll do my best to catch up.
Rachael Lyon (for you it's a pet name)
