first, I hate this stupid font in the html editor. I think it's trying to stab my eyeballs with it's uglyness. I'm also rather annoyed that all my notifications are apparently screwing up even more after this latest lj update :/ I either get no notification, or one days later. so if you commented/replied to me somewhere and I didn't respond, that's ( Read more... )

life is crazy, whining, xmas, yay, floon

Vons, Genuardi's, Tom Thumb... all those places owned by Safeway :D but none of the "real" stores or Fry's/Kroger's. it makes us Safeway-owned baristas happyyyyy.
(fat, too, because how can I say no to a Chai frappuccino for $2??? with free peppermint syrup because yay gold card)

have you tried caramel sauce and toffee nut syrup together? I accidentally caramel brulee earlier this year when playing with my drink |3 Joy is back, too! (I forget, but I'm pretty sure we put it out Tuesday) I think the boxes looked smaller than last year's, though. I know the Joy wasn't upgraded to a tin package like the rest of our teas for some reason, though :/ just a cardboard box.

our matcha powder is made specially for Starbucks by Tazo, iirc. I'm not sure if it ranks as expensive compared to other matcha powders, either - our case of six is ~$70 at cost to us, but I forget how much is in each packet :o

YAAAAAAY I AM HAPPY!! That is the one right next to me, so all after work I know what I am doing. :D whoo hoo!

I haven't.... that sounds pretty awesome though! lol its funny whenever i go to the starbucks and they have new samples out...and its just because the barista was bored and made something random.

oohhh.. I'll have to go see if my store has it. I am excited. I love that tea so much. Last year I ended up getting it in the tin, but i don't mind the box, the tea bags dont dribble out of the box vs the tin..and the box takes up less room :b

ah ha... tazo. I THOUGHT SO. lame that we can't buy it. :( I've been trying to make the matcha soy drinks bcuz i love them but i can't figure out the right recipe for it. i know its just the powder + soy but mine aren't as good somehow. I need to find how to balance it better...but i wasn't sure if its the matcha brand i have or not.

we are generally encouraged to play with our food at work. most of the time it turns out amazing... other times it's awful :'D

each store should have a minimum of 8 boxes of Joy (that's the "tall" store minimum shipment), plus more if they reorder ^^ pretty sure the Taste of Tazo gift box has it as well.

yeah, it seems weird to me that we don't sell matcha powder when we sell mocha powder and caramel sauce, not to mention the regular bottled syrups. the only advice I can give is to make sure to use vanilla soy milk (Silk is what we used to have, until Starbucks started making their own), and to make sure to add sugar if your matcha powder doesn't already have it mixed in (our matcha powder has a ton of sugar in it orz).

Yea! One time when I went there was an iced drink that tasted almost just like the cinnamon coffee cake. it was really good. :D

sweeeeet. I'll definitely pick some up then!! I'll probably pass the box...the passion tea is kind of gross on its own. (but i also love the passion tea lemonades.. ODD)

Ahhh that's funny you mention the vanilla soy! I actually use regular, but I have some Starbucks vanilla syrup... I use a bit of that, plus soy and my matcha and that's the closest I've gotten to making one so far. It's still a bit 'off' but I will keep trying different amounts. Silk is the brand I buy too...:D So that is good to know!

mmmm, cinnamon is like crack to me |D I'll have to toy around with our cinnamon syrup and see if I can come up with something similar.

iiiick I love the passion tea lemonade, and used to make it at home before we switched to full leaf tea :/ it tastes pretty much awful now, and totally different from what we use to make the iced teas/lemonades. I think if you just buy it off the grocery aisle it's not full leaf, but I haven't been able to bring myself to buy more after my first taste of full leaf passion.
I used to buy the Tazo gift box for the teas I liked + the ornament that came with it and split it with someone, but the past 3 years they haven't made a tea ornament so I haven't been motivated to buy it (I also hate getting stuck with teas I don't like).

it was really really good! I am sure you would like it if you love cinnamon. :D

I really did not like passion tea by itself when I bought it. It's sad because it /sounds/ good but somehow....it just is not. i still like buying the passion tea lemonades in starbucks sometimes though. lol.

tea ornament!? that sounds super cute. ;-; i wish they would do those again... i might be interested in a tea box myself. i have so much tea still though it is probably better... and yes, i hate having tea i don't like also. lol i'll try to gift it to people i know that like tea, in case they do. but a lot of people i know don't even like tea.
