the horribleness of the day
OK so NATO wanted to deploy special forces to Afghanistan to guard the elections there. Somehow France blocked this. France is not part of NATO's military structure. They are a North atlantic country and therefore part of that council but they have no say in military matters. It doesnt seem possible that they could undermine this action. Also if we are guarding the elections to keep them fair why do they want to stop us? Official presence of NATO countries have been in the area for awhile now, it would be no real change. Plus since their name isnt really involved in it it wouldnt matter to them. Also a european court openly backs legislation banning Islamic practices and tradition namely the wearing of scarves citing that it is fighting fundamentalism. This would be equivalent to telling christians that they cant wear crosses on necklaces anymore. This violates basic human rights and it is a human rights court that takes precident over national courts in the region even.Grrrrrrrrr! What is it with Europe lately? they are making me angry even though it doesnt really effect me so i guess it doesnt matter.....
