Oh, man, this is ridiculous. Have you ever wasted time obsessing about some really, totally meaningless question of pop culture? For example, my friend Richard brought up the "Desert Island Disc" question the other day. We were talking and somehow got on the subject of Radiohead, and he mentioned that "The Bends" would almost be the album he'd

1. Casino Night - has to be. I watched that one scene every day for about 2 months on Tivo. It was amazing and perfect, and at the time, I didn't care if Jim's confession of love ruined the show forever, it was just a beautiful moment of TV.
2. Booze Cruise - The greatest Jim/Pam episode prior to Casino Night.
3. The Fire - I don't know why I love this episode so much, but I do. It's fantastic. The gang playing games outside and the Michael/Ryan/Dwight triangle. Classic.
4. Office Olympics - for me, the first true classic episode. It was the episode that defines the show, brilliantly funny but suddenly genuinely moving in a silly way.
5. Gay Witch Hunt - for two reasons: the brilliant reveal of Jim in Stamford (gutsy, intelligent writing for a sit-com) and the Michael/Oscar kiss. I'm not sure I've ever laughed harder at a TV show than in that moment.
Honorable mentions: The Alliance (Dwight in a box!), The Dundies (Michael rapping over "OPP"), Halloween (heartbreaking ending), The Client (Tim Meadows!), The Injury (nice Dwight and Michael's cooked foot), and Travelling Salesment (just for the scene where Jim and Dwight rock that one sale together).
As for the UK, it's been so long since I've seen it, I'd have to think. The obvious number 1 would be the Christmas special, but that hardly seems fair. The other great ones would be Training Day ("Free love on the free love freeway") and the one with the quiz and the pub ("'Carpet Munchers' doesn't get a point. 'Dr. Wankenstein' doesn't get a point. 'Stephen Hawking's Football Boots' doesn't get a point.")
