I've sorta been neglecting my LJ, and I've got a ton to talk about. I have to break down my One More Day reviews into a series of comments and reactions. And if anyone caught tonight's Simpsons, there's even MORE for me to talk about. But first, some Green Lantern.
Spoilers for Sinestro Corps War.
Sinestro Corps War was pretty awesome, there was so much to like, and the conclusion was so satisfying (especially knowing there will be more Corps coming and another mega event in 2009). But I love how all FOUR Earth Green Lanterns (not counting Alan Scott, who's found his place as an older statesman in JSA years ago) now have their own thing to do. Since Hal's return, he's sort of taken the spotlight, and I was just waiting for them to kill one of them off. I thought Kyle would get it since during SCW, he lost Ion (and was briefly possessed by Parallax) and is no longer the torch bearer (although it makes sense for Sodam Yat to be Ion now since he'll be the greatest Green Lantern).
But now? Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, and Guy Gardner are evenly distributed among monthly titles. Hal has the main Green Lantern book, and since he's busy in that, he asked John to take over for him in the JLA, so John appears monthly in Justice League of America. Hal and John are the official partners that protect sector 2814.
That leaves Kyle and Guy. Guy has been part of the honor guard of the Green Lantern Corps and training the rookies along with Kilowog. So now that Kyle isn't the torch bearer, they've made him part of the honor guard and partnered him up with Guy. That means they'll both be appeared in the monthly Green Lantern Corps title. I read the latest issue today, where they moved from Earth to Oa. It's a good move for Kyle, but what about Guy? Will he and Tora ever get back together? At least he's re-opening Warriors (possibly to be re-named Guy's Place) on Oa.
I'll say it again, it's a GREAT time to be a Green Lantern fan!
