Good Day

Oct 17, 2007 23:01

So today I turned 25. Somewhat of a milestone, I'd say. Birthdays haven't been that significant since I left college. 22, 23, and 24 went by without me making that big a deal. I was more worried about where my life was headed. I guess I still am.

With my friend's wedding this weekend, I have a lot on my mind. I've got stuff to talk about, and a couple lists I want to put up, but those will have to wait for next week.

Right now, however, I will say that I had a pretty good day. I went into work as usual, and they treated me to Indian food for lunch. I also bought myself Brian K. Vaughan's Pride of Baghdad which I've been thinking about getting for a while. I'll deal with my gift certificates later. At the end of the day, everyone at work sang "Happy Birthday" to me and I got to blow out the candles they had put in some cupcakes. It was a really nice gesture, something I wasn't prepared for. I'm grateful for that.

I and a few others will be leaving for North Carolina tomorrow night. The wedding is this Sunday (I'm best man, woo-hoo!), so this will be my last post for a few days. I'll try to catch up with anything you guys write, but I'm not making any promises. Talk to you next week!
