In The Great Hall Of Justice...

I got to both my job interviews okay the other day. I think they went well, and I'd be happy to get either job (although a bit happier at the non-profit place). They both have their advantages, it seems. To think, this would mean I'm done with temping for the foreseeable future, which would be really great.

That's not to say I got either job for sure. They're still interviewing people, and they'll both get back to me next week. So now all that's left is to play the waiting game.

...

I'm tired of the waiting game...let's play Justice League (spoilers for season 4 finale of The Batman and Justice League of America #7)!

It's taken Brad Meltzer close to a year, but the Justice League of America finally has a new roster. Black Canary is the chairperson, Roy Harper is now calling himself Red Arrow, and also on the team are Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Black Lightning, Hawkgirl, Vixen, Red Tornado, and possibly Geo-Force. It's a solid line-up, although it could use Martian Manhunter...Bart isn't ready yet...otherwise, nice mix of seasoned heroes and new guys.

It'll have a lot to live up to because I really dug Morrison's JLA, which was followed pretty well by Waid and then Kelly, but went downhill pretty fast. The new digs are a really nice touch. Much like on JLU, the Justice League now has two bases, one Earth-based and one space-based. The Earth one seems like the primary headquarters, it's in Washington DC and is pretty much the Hall of Justice (which I don't think was ever used in the comics). The satellite in space seems to be a training facility, but I'm sure there's more stuff up there.

Brad Meltzer has his strengths and weaknesses. He has an obvious love for the characters and history (pre-1990, anyway) and gives every character a reason to be there. His story about the Red Tornado was pretty touching. He tends to get a bit too emotional, though, having Hal and Dinah cry when Roy put on the Red Arrow costume, for example. I am looking forward to more interactions between them, and the Red Arrow/Hawkgirl thing is great (so young, and yet they both have kids, they've got stuff in common).

So...with the Justice League and various heroes being on The Batman next season, I wondered who they'd get to voice everyone. Here is my ideal list (and yeah, I had to pick some VAs who've been on The Batman before, and yeah, I know some of these guys may not show up, I'm not entirely delusional):

Batman - Rino Romano
John Jones - Dorian Harewood
Green Lantern - Scott Patterson
Flash - Jeff Bennett
Hawkman - Will Arnett
Green Arrow - Jason Lee
Atom - David Kaye
Elongated Man - Tom Kenny
Black Canary - Melissa Joan Hart
Zatanna - Lucy Davis
Superman - Yuri Lowenthal...Adam Balwdin...heck, even Brandon Routh. Not to connect it to any particular continuity, but just because they could all use the experience.

As far as villains go, I don't have any voice actors in mind, but I was thinking it'd be nice to see characters JL/U didn't have in their traditional roles, like Starro, Despero, or whoever.
