Uncivil War

Now that I've read Civil War: The Confession, I've finally completed all the Civil War tie ins...a good 2 months late... Plus I read Captain America #25. There will be spoilers for all that down below, but my new Simpsons icon based on the Poochie episode sort of sums up my feeling on things.

When are they planning to retcon Spidey's identity NOT being a secret and Captain America being dead? And how does J. Jonah Jameson feel about learning Peter is Spidey?

Have you read Buffy Season Eight yet?

Whatever they do to Spider-Man's identity technically won't be a retcon because the damage is already done, but they can undo it. I'm not sure when it's happening, but for a while I've been hearing about a future Spider-Man project by Quesada and Straczynski that's supposed to "fix" Spider-Man.

As for Captain America, Ed Brubaker said he's had the next two years of the story planned out, and the issue he died in was the first of a 9-part arc. So he'll come back anytime between 9 months from now and 2 years from now.

I read the first issue of Season Eight.

What was Jameson's reaction to learning Peter is Spider-Man? Are Spider-Man and MJ still together?

Let me know when you've read the other two and I'll repost my reviews of them.

Oh, right, Jameson. After he finished fainting, he got pissed and began organizing a lawsuit against Peter for selling pictures under false pretenses.

Peter and MJ are still together, although Aunt May got wounded by one of Kingpin's guys and she's in the hospital (and Spider-Man is back in black).

As for Buffy, it'll take another 2 or 3 weeks until I get to issue #2, and I haven't even gotten issue #3 yet, so I won't even get to that until July sometime.

Quesanda is getting back into the game? Awesome! He's one of the best Marvel has had of late with all of the stuff he produced. He gets that a super hero has to operate in anonimity. The best superhero stories never have the hero running out infront of a huge crowd, exposing themselves and saving the day. It alwasy happens where no one can see them. Best thign for me about X-2 was that it took place in an area wher eno one would have know what the hell was going on until it was too late. Doing it out in public is a cheap trick to manufacture drama since "little billy right in front of me might get hurt if I fail!".

Quesada does do good work, but as Editor in Chief, he's made some blunders. But then again, everyone complains about Editor in Chief. I also agree with you about superheroes working in secret/away from the public eye, but seeing them in public every now and then doesn't hurt.
