Oh Yeah, And I Ran A Race
Okay, the next entry will be the Harry Potter one (or, rather, the first one).
I have to mention that I am now a 2010 Coast to Coast runner...so...yay for me!
This was last weekend, Labor Day Weekend. Saturday, I drove to Disneyland (Anaheim is only about 45 minutes away from me), parked in the Pinnochio Lot, and went to the Expo, where I got my bib, my Coast to Coast bracelet (which I wasn't allowed to take off), and my goody bag.
I had to waste time at the Expo, then at Downtown Disney (which was free), and then my friend Dan got off work. I drove over to his parents' place, and went to bed at midnight. I had to get up at 3:30 to drive back to Disney. I parked in the Mickey and Friends Lot, which took forever, and it SUCKED to have to pay for parking both days.
The whole thing was pretty organized, though. It started at 5:59 on the dot (for the wheelchair racers), and I was in Corral C. So we ran through Disney California Adventure and Disneyland and all its lands, and then up and out to the Anaheim Angels Stadium, where we ran across the outfield, and then back to Disneyland.
A full 13.1 miles, and it took me 2 hours and 5 minutes. My goal was to beat 2 and a half hours, so I did much better than that. Conditions were perfect. I'm happy, and I got my Coast to Coast medal for doing this and the Disney Marathon the same year. So now I've got my Marathon Medal, my Half Marathon Medal, and my Coast to Coast Medal. Not bad all for one year, eh?
