Last Month of Summer Update

Aug 02, 2010 19:58

I haven't done a real one of these in a while, but that's because I've been busy and things have shifted around. Here's a quick rundown:

June - Ended my summer class and finished a very rough draft of a 98 page screenplay (a comedy this time). My friend Jake and I also moved into our new place off-campus, it's in Culver City, not too far away from school. It's awesome, two bedroom, two bath, and huge, 15-foot ceilings.

I went back to Connecticut for about a week to attend my 10 year high school reunion. It was kind of a disappointment since not that many people showed, and there were a bunch of people I wanted to see that weren't there. Ah well, maybe next time.

July - Spent a lot of last month getting stuff for the apartment (bed and mattress, balcony furniture, fridge, barstools, TV and stand, sofa and loveseat). Still need a dresser and a desk, but that can wait until fall.

In the meantime, I have been working at the Media and Reserves desk of the school library, taking as many hours as I can. In the off-time, I've been doing the Harry Potter/Neil Gaiman alternating, and I'll be very close to finishing by the end of the month (see next entry). Also, I've been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance with my friend Howard as well as Kingdom Hearts II on my own.

I'm going to go into a more specific career-oriented (and possibly social oriented) post at some point, but I figure this is enough for now.

life, work, literature, school, harry potter, writing, neil gaiman, video games
