I was going to do this yesterday, but I didn't get to it.
So, Monday was Elements of Screenwriting. I didn't get to pitch my idea, but I will soon. Everyone seems to have a good start to theirs, and this is still my favorite class.
Tuesday was Production, where we shared our embarrassing stories. I told the one where I got a bad case of the thunder from down under before gym class and had to hide my underwear in a locker but was found out. I was nervous about it, but so was everyone else, so it was cool.
Wednesday we continue to have our dull Production lab, but it's only an hour.
Thursday was TV Genres. I saw the professor before class, and she said I could do Justice League for my paper. She also gave me some suggested readings so I can talk about how Cartoon Network served as a better vehicle to tell cartoon stories that adults can enjoy too. I'll also be talking about how it's a big change from Superfriends and even a step up from the Batman/Superman Adventures on Kids WB. Class was fun, too, we talked about dramas (including Lost and Buffy). We briefly talked about our papers, and between Matt's and Susan's, it looks like it's going to be one of the most epic battles of 90's pop icons there is...Matt argues that the coolest and greatest is Kevin Sorbo of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys while Susan says it's David Duchovny of the X-Files. The ultimate brains vs. brawn battle! Who will win?
Friday was kind of slow, but Saturday I ran down to the beach. It's lovely, plus their trash cans still have ads for Ariel's Beginning. I went to cheer on a classmate at a taco eating contest. He didn't win, but it was fun to watch, plus I got to eat leftovers! That evening, a few of us went to Manhattan Beach, which was cool.
That brings me to yesterday, where I mostly stayed in to do work. I went to the church on campus to see what it was like. Glad I didn't burn up.
