"RAMON!" It's a yell right by his ear, trying to snap him out of it. Now that he's gone limp, she can free that other hand from across his chest and up to his face. Making him look at her, even though his eyes aren't tracking. Then her voice drops down to a steady murmur, as she tries to get through to him.
"Ramon. Ramon. Ramon Salazar. Look at me. Please? You're not there anymore. No tests. Look! I'm here. I'm right here. Would I let that happen? Ramon, please, love, look at me. You're not there. You're at Eiko's. You're safe and I'm right here and I'm never going to let that happen to you again. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't stop him in time. I'm so sorry. Ramon, please, mi amor, look at me."
And, since she figures Becky's already figured it out, she kisses him softly.
Yeah, Becky's confused. So confused a part of her brain kind of bounces that visual off for a minute, and she dumps the slug and forceps onto the nearby pan filled with violet light for disinfecting. It's like her mind is trying to justify it in other ways, but, no... Hips just kissed him.
It kind of all made sense now.
She shakes it off, and turns away maybe a little unneccessarily.
"Beast," she calls, "I know Eiko has supplies to patch damaged arteries. How do I do it and what do I need?"
"Fifth drawer, under the scalpel set on top of the console. Look for the tube marked 'arterial seals', to the left of the tray marked 'artifical patellas'. It's a thick paste that sets quickly to seal the damaged area." There's a pause.
"Madame has received the beacon and is responding. She'll be here very shortly."
Ramon's gaze does indeed remain unfocused and bleary, lost in his flashbacks, as Hippolyta pleads with him to snap out of it. But there's a flicker of activity in his eyes a long moment after she kisses him. He makes a slow, trembling sigh against her lips, his eyes gradually shutting again.
His breathing hitches in a few quiet sobs. Then the hand clutching her shirt gradually loosens and then falls limply on the table. He continues to cry quietly and helplessly.
"Yeah? Well, I'm sure there are blankets around. We'll find one for you. It's okay, love. It's okay."
She's not exactly dry eyed, either, but she's biting it back so as to not scare him. Her hand is still holding his, although the grip isn't painful anymore. That soothing petting she's been doing is kept up, her thumb running in little circles against his tears-wet cheek.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't stop him. I never thought... He's never hurt any of my friends before. I'm so sorry."
...Oh, god, if Terry finds out about this, there's gonna be no END of trouble. Hips makes a mental note to not go blabbing to her about this.
There's a shimmer, and a pair of medical scrubs appear. Eiko then appears in them, wearing a pair of sandals. She opens her eyes, and takes in the situation.
"OK, Becky, what's the situation?" Social niceties can wait until after the medical stuff is done.
Becky puts the tube down and claps her hands like she's dusting them, despite the gloves. One of those... habits you pick up when gloves aren't always available.
"They arrived about seven minutes ago--Ramon got shot in the knee, looked like a .45 slug. Had to pull it out, he's got a knicked femoral artery that's tied off for now."
Eiko nods, glancing at the pan, then the leg, then the tube in Becky's hand. "Arterial seal. Good thinking. Do you feel comfortable to put it on or do you want me to do it?" She glances at Ramon and Hips, then back at Becky, and then back at the knee.
"Once that's sealed, we're going to want to pull out the sonar for bone and connective damage before we can do anything else." She puts her hands into the violet light, sterilizing them.
"It's not. Just like putting toothpaste on. The collagen will seal right up. I'll go get the sonar ready." And she goes to pull some things out, leaving Becky to take care of the nick in the artery, not betraying if she has even the slightest misgiving.
And Becky walks back over, picks up the tube, and goes about trying to find the easiest way in to apply said collagen paste. She eventually manages to dodge it in there on the tips of her fingers, maybe applying a little too much to be on the safe side.
Hips has been ignoring this for the most part, not even registering Eiko's appearance. She's just focused on making sure Ramon's going to get through this without turning into a puddle of screaming terror.
Then she glances down at Becky, which is a mistake. Urp... She swings her look back up to Ramon's face. Hey, blood all over, fantastic. Bonus round! It's Ramon's blood! Final Jeopardy! She didn't stop Wade from pulling the trigger!
This is fun.
"Can... can we sedate him? Put him out now? Or is that bad for open wounds...?" She directs that at Becky, even though her eyes don't leave his.
Eiko returns with the device, glancing over. "never a bad thing to overdo that - it won't clog the artery, but if there's microtears we don't want an extra rupture." She points a device that looks like a supermarket scanner at the knee. It doesn't do anything except hum. In her other hand, Eiko has a black piece of plastic connected to the scanner by a coiled wire. Slowly, a picture of the 'hard' parts of the knee come into view - bones, tendons, ligaments, the meniscus pad. It rises up, becoming fully 3-D so they can examine it carefully.
Ramon is completely out of it by this point, still shivering and weakly holding Hippolyta's hand. There's only a slight wince and a quiet moan when the paste is applied. Being sedated right now? Sounded like SUCH a tempting notion. So long as he knew that Hippolyta was still going to be nearby when he woke up...

"It doesn't look complicated."
She does the same.
