Some dickwad was lecturing me on my money issues and how I "can't assume I have more than I do". And all I could think of is, "Wow... you're worse than my dad. At least he has the decency to allow me make mistakes so I can learn from them in the future ( Read more... )

I had that issue today. I called optimum (they are the only Internet provider here) to ask about pricing. I told them I didn't plan on buying at that moment because I had to discuss it with my roommate. Asking me the standards questions she found out I had no tv or phone package with anyone and she was all don't you want to have movies at your finger tips and I was like "I do my computer" that is where her attitude started because she doesn't know anything about streaming things online I guess .So when I asked all the features she was telling me how I can reach speeds of 30 Mbps with the boost package. Now the only reason we are looking into Internet now is because the person we were stealing from moved. After I explained to her how 30 Mbps was extremely slow because I was catching54 Mbps in a regular day. She tried to tell ms it was impossible not didn't help when I tried to explain to her that I was using a mobile hotspot because she started ranting about how you catch viruses from unsecured networks. It didn't help when I tried to explain to her that everything she was telling me was wrong and she isn't doing such a great job if she is giving perspective customers wrong information about technology at which point she became quite condescending and when I asked to speak to a supervisor she cut ms off then hung up.

In short they don't know what they are talking about and use their job to make people feel bad because their lives suck.
