in our coats of splendid colours
we went from town to town
leaving young hearts filled with promise
and the venues turned up side down

now we're standing here together
and it's time for the encore

so let's not keep them waiting anymore

i did! just once though. it wasn't bad, just kind of underwhelming i guess. but you were right about the whole having expectations thing - i listened to it while walking to school and even though a lot of it just seemed kind of silly, i enjoyed it still. not enough to listen again right away i guess, but i'm glad i heard it.

i leave 10 may! less than a month! ahhhsdjkfgh so many things to do beforehand. but yes, (pitifully?) i've been hoping the album will leak before i go so i can listen for sure. i mean, i'm pretty sure i'll be able to download it somehow while there - i'm bringing my laptop because it was recommended by my internship and i know they'll have internet and all, but you know... i don't know my situation exactly yet and i would feel awkward downloading things illegally at work! and also, apparently kenya's internet isn't protected or something, so good thing i have a mac.
but anyway, cheesy patrick. i dunno, if this album came out around the time that the bachelor did i would have been super bummed (i needed aggressive, angry, political music in my life then!) but to be honest......... i usually hate cheesiness and get really annoyed at it etc etc but at this point, i think it might be a little good for me, haha. i guess i can appreciate a little more....... the aggressive cheesiness seems to cheer me up rather than make me angry/resentful, at least! but i do understand. it's just not the same as the first two magical ones, woe woe woe. to me, the new songs are kind of fun but they're just not going to generate the same strong emotional reactions i guess.

i have listened to the new kills, a handful of times. i didn't like that one song either (satellite, right?) all that much, but i like the album as a whole better. i don't know it very well yet but you should listen though, because i don't think that one song is an indicator, per se. nothing really stood out about it to me, but it was fine.

while we're on the topic of underwhelming albums by favorite artists, how about the manics? :| :| :| not bad, just MEH. i'm still mad!!! and that was awhile ago.

at least there's the dø!
