I wouldn't say Ampora and I are 'good friends.'
More like we had a 8lack relationship once.
The names come from his ancestor though, and it kinda fitting.
This Skorupi creature is deeeeeeeefinitely a8le to give a personn dual scars.

Ah, that would make sense then.
I was curious as to how someone like him could garner a friendship out of someone like you.
It's easy to see, however, how he could earn himself a kismesis.
And I am going to take a guess, then, that that is why he gave his Pokemon those nomenclatures.
However, yes, I would agree with you there.
It certainly does seem capable.
That's good to hear.
The rest of our journey should be no issue for you then.
If you are planning on coming back to Goldenrod with us, of course.

I wouldn't say he earned it really, it was just a thing, and it didn't really work out.
Didn't stop him from trying to keep at it after we 8roke it off.
Oh he named his Pokemon after his ancestor didn't he? Of course he did.

Of course it didn't.
I can't say I'm surprised.
And yes, he did indeed.
Currently it's merely John, Dave, Sollux, Watanuki and myself. Feferi will be joining us as well, I believe.
Back in Goldenrod, however, waits Jade, Eridan, Soul, and Maka.
Of course, if you come with us to Goldenrod our route, you would not have a chance to challenge the gym in Azalea.
Possibly not the one here either, as I've a feeling we won't be staying long.

That sounds weird even for your human names.
I might skip these gyms for now, do some power leveling.
Isn't a gym a human place to train their 8odies and get all muscley like that Nic Cage human.

He's a friend of Sollux's.
I'm going to guess that the origin of his name comes from Japan, as it sounds similar to what I've heard used as names there, though I could be wrong.
Names differ from country to country.
Here you hear ones such as John or Rose or Dave or Jade.
In Japan, you're more likely to hear Watanuki, Amaya, or Hitoshi.
France, you run into Pierre, Jaques or Claude.
It's quite interesting, really.
An yes, under most circumstances that is what a gym is for.
However in Johto, they are used as more of a test for how well you are training and raising your Pokemon.
You engage in a battle with the leader there, against their Pokemon, and should you win you receive a badge, as well as the right to use certain moves outside of battle sometimes, or a technical machine to teach your Pokemon a new move.
As well as bragging rights, I'm sure.

I like these concepts of gyms 8etter I think.
8attles and challenges are waaaaaaaay 8etter than 8uilding up your 8ody.
