☙ HAPPY SPRING~♪♥♫

♪ ☙ ☼ ☆ spring ♥ spring ♥ spring ☆ ☀ ♣ ♫

With all the completely random unicode characters around, you'd think there'd be a flower :\

And wtf is this?
Facebook and Twitter on my lj?
I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I... I guess it's good? But I kind of liked that lj never whored itself out and got involved in those sorts of shennanigans. Still, in this day and age, you'd basically defeating the purpose of the intarwabs if you didn't allow for cross-posting and whatnot.
...After reading lj's notice about it, it looks pretty convenient for people who want to connect, and blissfully irrelevant for those who don't :3

Also, I feel like a BIG DORK after my last livejournal post.
E-everyone was so nice ;A;
I love you all ♥ Thank you for your kind comments~
It turns out I have a lot of new friends to get to know *so happy* so I feel REALLY DUMB for whining about it >___<;;;; What an attention seeker =__=;; Oh, the embarassment~
Whelp, that's what blogs on the intarwabs are for, I guess. That's why Cake has a disclaimer at the top of the journal not to take things too seriously~ (can you take it seriously when the entry is actually tagged as 'emo'?)

So anyway:
OHMYGOODNESS FASHION AT THE MOMENT. ILU SO HARD.
It is SO EASY to get lolita-esque things this season~☆
If you wanted to be entirely accurate, fashion is basically aligning itself with hime-gyaru looks, but hey. CUTE THINGS~!
♥frills♥bows♥pastel-pinks♥rose prints♥lace♥cardigans♥
^_____________________^
I've even spotted some adorable boleros! (in Tempt)
And of course navy is in~! Omnomnom red polkadots and dark-blue stripes~
But all my pay.... I really need to stop visiting the city on payday >Д<;;;;;;;
But I do heartily advise my fellow lolitas to take advantage while they can; paying $20~30 for a necklace that someone like Baby would charge $70~80 is pretty sweet, yo.

Speaking of which, Diva moved into where Emporio was~
I... approve. They painted over everything with pink and white, though, which is a shame (but still looks nice, I suppose, in a clinical, candy sort of way. I would have coffee there if it were a cafe). There aren't four floors of shoes though, just two so far.
I got a bracelet with cakes on it! Japanese fake-macaroon style, hee hee (。・◇・。)
And I bought a 'best-of' type big band cd on a whim, as well as Elizabeth Honey's Remote Man, which has long been one of my favourite books ^__________^ (Um, I got them from Borders, not Diva). Actually, I really wanted to hunt down the Ponyo soundtrack, but I ran out of time~~~

Now, useful things! Wait, no... Interesting time-wasting things~
Or... DINOSAUR THINGS???

TODAY'S SECRET THEME: DINOSAURS

How about a mind-blowing revelation about the shape of the continents of Earth

Your life is changed. Your life is changed forever.

The most versatile tattoo ever:
T-REX! of Dinosaur Comics. I love the idea of a tattoo that is also a blank comic panel to be filled in differently every day.

Fossils of a new type of dinosaur, which looks like a beefy version of the predatory Velociraptor, have been unearthed in Romania.
Run for your lives! The Velociraptors have comrades!
As the writer of Dinosaur Comics, Ryan North, said Tired of velociraptors with just ONE flesh-tearing claw per foot? Good news, science found one with two!

I... I have run out of dinosaur links (f⌐ _⌐ );
(Already!)
Um, so have an old, stale link that is yet again related to Ryan North
and his EPIC RAP BATTLE with Joey Comeau over twitter - all transcribed neatly for you on Joey's journal.
Joey Comeau is the author of the webcomic A Softer World and some of my favourite ever novellas.
Those were some SICK RHYMES, YO.

Actually, if we're going to talk about sick rhymes (weren't we talking about dinosaurs??), comedienne Melinda Buttle has some crazy rap skillz. I saw her when I went to see Josh Thomas' Surprise! show the other weekend. She had a fantabulous anecdote/set about being a teacher, which is what she was before she decided to pursue the rock-and-roll life of an entertainer.
/plug

Speaking of plugs!
Um... am I the only one who listens to Plastic Tree?
They are one of my absolute all-time favourite bands ever in life.
But I was so sad to learn the other day (when I looked up the lyrics, finally) that the song コンセント aka consent - from the album Dona Dona - isn't some twisted song about consent (and the lack thereof?), but that 'consent' refers to...
Concentric electrical plugs!!
I actually don't even really know what they are, just assuming they're a crazy standard Japanese electrical socket or something. But it's okay, because the lyrics are all about being unplugged and disillusioned or somesuch. It makes sense, since it's Plastic Tree mucking around with an electro dance track (which, like everything else, they do beautifully).

Wow, I guess most of this post has been pretty boring if you don't know or care about the topics I've been rambling about. Huh.
I promise to have more to say about dinosaurs when I finally get round to reading The Ultimate Dinosaur Book that I got from the library, like, a month ago '__';;;; (I just assume you are interested in dinosaurs. Who isn't??)

I will leave you with a PRETTY DARN NEAT video of a Japanese guy contact juggling:

I believe "OMG" sufficiently covers my feelings.
