I Loved You Once in Silence

Chris sat in the back seat of the bus quietly, already jotting down things in his notebook dispite having not taken a single class yet. He had neatly combed blue hair and was pretty average looking. Every moment or two he looked up to catch a glance at the girl sitting three seats in front of him, laughing and chatting with her friends. His heart would flutter for a moment and he would grin, but then he would go back to scribbling in his notebook for fear of her noticing him.
Your midnight locks flow o'er your shoulders
Your glowing smile sets my heart aflame
Your eyes are cut from emerald boulders
Your...
'What rhymes with flame?' he pondered to himself as he looked at the poem unfolding before him. To some his poem would sound like it embellished the truth, but in reality it was crystal clear and perfectly accurate. Lisa Archer had long black hair and bright green eyes. There was hardly a moment she wasn't smiling or laughing. She was by all permutations of the word beautiful, but it was more than this beauty that attracted Chris. He was drawn to her by her cheerful air and love of life. She was friendly and outgoing, and always surrounded by friends. Because of this Chris never had a chance to get close to her.
Suddenly he thought of a way to finish the line and erased part of what he had written quickly and wrote the last line and looked at his completed stanza.
Your midnight locks flow o'er your shoulders
Your glowing smile sets my heart aflame
Your eyes are cut from emerald boulders
And my heart flutters when I hear your name.
He grinned, content with his work and closed his notebook as the bus drew to a stop in front of the high school.
