I was watching the news about a month ago seeing the devastation in Samoa. As they were interviewing many of the locals about losing their loved ones and just the absolute massacre of their peaceful oceanside lives, I was completely humbled with the integrity that they grieved. I wrote a song about a few of the stories that I heard, and the lyrics have direct quotes which are in bold. One was from a mother who lost her two daughters and the other was from a young guy whose brother was missing
Holds her babes a night time through
holds them close to her life;
Now she holds them loosely
kisses them
a good good good bye
She does not blame Him
she does not curse her tears
keeps saying:
God gave them to us
God took them away
Waves come in a grabbing at
brothers hold each other tight,
living brother looks on out 'cross the tide
keeps saying:
I think he's in the sky
I think his body's lost
a good good good bye
a good good goodbye
