[Oh. My God. This is not where Abby is supposed to be! What is this place? One thing's for sure: it's definitely not the lab.]

Um... Gibbs? McGee? Tony?

[She turns around, taking everything in.]

Hey! A little help here?

Scotty wanders in munching on a sandwich, his trusty screwdriver housed in his back pocket.

''lo, lass. What's seems to be the problem?'

You know, Scotty, it's really too bad you're from the newest movie. It hasn't come out in Abby's timeline, otherwise she might recognize you. (She does, however, have the strangest feeling that she's seen this man somewhere before. For some reason, she keeps thinking zombies.)

"Something totally hinky is what seems to be the problem. This is not my lab." Is she dreaming? She might be dreaming. That might be why she keeps thinking zombies. Weird.

[ooc: This is so weird. I'd actually forgotten that I have an Abby account, and here you come with a Scotty account, and Scotty is my most recent muse and it's just weeeeird. XD]

For some reason he felt like he should be carrying around a cricket bat and be walking around keeping an eye out for zombies. Shaking it off he turned back to the goth-looking girl who was muttering something about her lab.

'Aye, I've been wanderin' about for awhile now and I c'n seem to get anyone to explain what's goin' on.'

[ooc: Haha, when I saw Abby I couldn't not comment on it XD This is actually my Scotty char from an AU rpg that's set in present time ^-^ I'm so excited that you responded!]

Abby would not have been surprised to see this man carrying a cricket bat, although it was only a vague feeling in the back of her mind. "I guess we'll just have to be completely and totally lost together, then."

She'd much prefer Gibbs, or Tony, or McGee, or anyone she knew, but really, she wasn't about to be picky.

[ooc: Abby is love, as is Scotty! X3]

Scotty shrugged as he moved to stand next to her, offering her one of the many sandwiches he always kept on his person. 'Always nice to 'ave a bit o' company when you're lost, sandwich?'

With his other hand he reached out to shake her hand. 'The name's Scotty, what's yours lass?'

[Oh, totally! XD]

She shook her head at the sandwich, smiling. "Thanks, but I'll pass." She did shake his hand, though. "Scotty. Nice to meet you. I'm Abby."

His accent makes her feel a little less uncomfortable, a little less lost. It reminds her of Ducky.

'lo, Abby.' Smiling he took a bite out of his sandwich, turning to look around their surroundings. 'Do you 'ave any idea where we are? The only thing I c'n fig're is that we're in some sort of...alternate reality or somethin'.'

He felt a little protective of the other woman for some reason, she kind of reminded him of one of his engineers in need of help.

"Alternate reality?" Abby looked around, crossing her arms over her stomach. "You really think that's a possibility? I mean, don't get me wrong, it'd be totally cool, but that's kind of... out there."

This, coming from the woman who absolutely believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that there's alien life in the galaxy, despite having no scientific evidence to back it up. She took a small breath, and said quietly and a little regretfully, "I'm a scientist, Scotty. Without proof... you're not going to convince me that this is anything but a really weird dream."

'Well...'m supposedly from an alternate reality caused by an alien spacecraft going back in time and creating a whole new timeline. Or well...tha's what tha' pointy eared vulcan said to me when 'e showed me my own equation that apparently I had written in his time...' Shrugging he just turned back to Abby grinning. 'But we could be in an entirely new universe, that hasn' been discovered yet.'

Scotty's eyes lit up at he thought through all of the different possibilities of how they had gotten there. He too was a scientist, well more of an engineer than a scientist, but he was always open to knew ideas.

Abby, who'd begun poking around here and there, stopped when she heard the word 'Vulcan'. She glanced over at Scotty, her expression something between amused and a little concerned. She hadn't been here long enough to know about alternate realities, or the possibility of running into fictional people. All she knew was that this guy Scotty was either convinced that Vulcans were real, and that what he'd said had happened to him really had happened, or else he was pulling her leg.

"Too bad I can't just call Gibbs and ask him to beam me up," she joked, playing along.

Scotty snickered, 'You'll never guess 'ow many times people 'ave said that to me. Did you know I once beamed three people from two different places onto one pad before? Aye, that was one of the best moments of my life.' Scotty grinned as he remembered how excited he had been being able to actually work on the Enterprise.

'Now, ''ho's Gibbs? Is 'e like your captain or somethin'?' He watched her moving about, poking around at the different objects strewn about.

Abby goes back to poking around, hiding her grin from Scotty. If he wanted to pretend that he was from Star Trek, she wasn't going to ruin his game. Maybe he was LARPer or something similar.

"Very Special Agent Gibbs is my boss," she replied. "No starship, I'm afraid. I'm just the overworked and underpaid forensics miracle worker." She grinned as she said that, clearly teasing. Not about the overworked part, though - that part was true.

Scotty finally took notice of how Abby was dressed and her mannerisms. He guessed she was probably from around the 21st century and didn't understand half of what he was talking about. Sighing softly he decided to tone it down a bit and hope that she didn't think he was insane.

'So...Special Agent would be...what? Some sort of government lacky? And forensics, aye? Always did want to try that out for a bit, but engineering was my first love.' Scotty lent up against a wall nearby, taking another bite of his sandwich as he did so.

"NCIS," Abby said. "And don't you dare call Gibbs a government lackey." She was still smiling, but there was a note of warning in her tone. She let it pass, though, and continued, "What kind of engineering?"

Not that she really needed to ask, not if this 'Scotty' guy was pretending to be from Star Trek. Was she ever in for a surprise when she learned that he was actually the real deal.

[ooc: Oh my gawd this thread is so amazing. XD I'm so glad I decided to try playing Abby again. <3]

Scotty held up his hands in a placating manner, 'A'right lass. No need to get yer knickers in a twist.' Scotty chuckled, she must really respect this 'Gibbs' if she were willing to beat up anyone who called him a 'lackey'.

'NCIS? That's...Naval Criminal Investigative...bugger. I c'n never remember what the 'S' stands for...oh! Mechanical engineering lass. It was purely by chance actually that I got a job on the Enter- umm...where I work. Sadly the bloke before me died in a freak accident.' Scotty hadn't known the guy, but he had heard he was a bit reckless, as some engineers were want to be.

[ooc: Right?! I freaking love this XD]

"Naval Criminal Investigative Service." She looked faintly impressed that he'd known what the first three letters stood for though; most people had never even heard of NCIS. "You get points for knowing the first part."

Turning back to Scotty, Abby gave him appraising look. She'd caught that he'd almost said he worked on the Enterprise, and wondered why he'd stopped himself. She was no psychological profiler, she knew, but she found it odd that he'd stopped himself before naming his ship. "What kind of freak accident?" That actually got her attention more than the whole Enterprise thing. "Freaky freak accident? Or just the kind of accident that people call a freak accident because it doesn't happen very often?"
