Intro | No Event

Cou opened his eyes, his arms crossed over his face studying his surroundings. This was weird. One moment he was standing there was Parl reacted with the mystery lady in the room, Ren by his side as that brilliant light of Edel Raid reaction filling the room and now he stood in some back alley in a city that looked nothing like what he'd seen ( Read more... )

7 heard the call and had gone to investigate, despite not ever having heard the name before-- if someone was in trouble, they were in trouble, no matter who in particular they called for. She was surprised to find what she did-- a man, collapsed and injured.

She swiftly went to kneel at his side, looking him over.

"Hey... can you hear me?"

Oh hey, I remember you. You were in this guy's 1st thread at the hotel. failatskypirate January 11 2010, 03:01:16 UTC
The sound of approaching footsteps got Cou's attention. His head tilted in her direction, studying the young lady as he knelt by his side.

He nodded in reply to her inquiry, guessing that Parl had either cracked a few of his ribs or at least bruised them pretty badly. The lacerations weren't so bad, their shape suggesting a small-bladed weapon.

"Is... Ren here?" the sky pirate asked, as he watched the world fuzz in and out of focus.

I'm eeeeverywhere! (Sadly it's not much of an exaggeration. :|) Hi! getupandfight January 11 2010, 03:04:02 UTC
"Ren?" She hesitated for a moment before shaking her head in answer. "I don't know of anyone by that name. Can you stand?"

Without that sense urgency that kept him running at full tilt during the beating he'd been given, Cou found that his body felt like it was practically made of lead.

"Probably... I just gotta take a load off. Just everything hurts right now."

"... what happened?" She knew it was probably not her business, but she couldn't help but wonder.

It seemed to take awhile, but Cou chose not to push himself any harder than needed. He might usually be reckless, but there wasn't anything immediately dangerous and a little bit of downtime went a long way.

He still hurt like someone tried to run him over, but it wasn't as bad as it was a little while ago. "Parl... that bitch was completely off her rocker." the sky pirate commented, feeling uncharacteristically bitter.

She blinked at that. "So someone attacked you."

He nodded as he recalled the details, partly trying to figure out just how he ended up here, "Yeah. I just broke into that room at the mansion. Parl and that lady had Ren and threatened to kill her if I did anything."

Cou scratched his chin as he continued to retrace his memories, "Then she beat the crap out of me, shoved Ren at me and told us to react. She reacted and there was that bright light." After a moment he finished, "And then I was here."

Wow that didn't make sense.

Understandably, 7 just stared at him for a moment, unsure of how to react to that story.

"... uh... huh. Well... whatever any of that means, you look like you could at least use some bandages, and maybe somewhere more comfortable to rest than the ground out here."

His confusion got shoved aside as his would-be savior's words yanked him back into the present. "Yeah, that sounds pretty good."

With everything that happened, Cou figured that getting patched up and figuring out just where the hell he was would be a good start to things. A little rest helped him recover enough so he could stand again, but clamoring to his feet didn't leave him feeling too swift. He wobbled a little, but managed to keep his balance. "Alright, let's get going then."

She just watched him, noticeably not offering a hand; she did care, but physical contact of, well, any kind that didn't involve a knife was reserved for those she trusted and cared about, and he was a stranger. And so he got no real special treatment from the warrior, though she did offer a makeshift spear she'd made from a hunting knife and... yes, a broom handle.

"It isn't a very good weapon," she said, smirking just a little, "But maybe it can help steady you a little."

Beggars can't be choosers, he thought as he eyed the improvised weapon. Although it did put a few questions into his head about what the area must be like if this person was traveling around armed.

Gratefully accepting the item, he planted the blunt end of the weapon onto the concrete and experimentally put his weight on it. "Thanks. Oh yeah, name's Cou. You got a name, miss...?"

It wasn't so much the area as the woman that had chosen to help him; but he'd learn that soon enough.

"7. Just 7."

He brightened up a little, no sense in being gloomy even if he did feel like he'd been run over. Well, he figured he'd wait until they were in a better spot before talking more.

"Lead the way."

Sure thing. getupandfight January 11 2010, 07:28:14 UTC
It wasn't any particular house she'd picked; she'd never claimed one of her own to stay in, and she wouldn't lead a stranger there even if she had. But it seemed fairly nice and it had all the basic essentials, she figured, and so she'd lead him there and held the door open for him, smiling just a little.

"I don't know much about these houses, but this should be comfortable, at least."

It was a welcome fact that the house they ended up going to wasn't far. In his current shape, the sky pirate was feeling rather frustrated with his lack of mobility. Upon arrival, he gave an appreciative nod as he stepped inside, glancing around at the interior ( ... )
