Event- Blinded (Because I'm a horrible, horrible mun.)

Jan 02, 2010 13:44

This is Itsuko on a bench downtown, glancing around as if looking into a dark room. Up until a few moments ago, everything was normal, but now it seemed like Infinity had gone dark.

"That's odd. I suppose this is an event..."

No more horrible than the rest of us. kyonko_narrates January 3 2010, 01:10:07 UTC
"What's odd?" Kyonko asked, having seen Itsuko while out for groceries and deciding to say hello when she heard the other girl say that.

'It doesn't mean anything. It's just nice to see a familiar face around here after so long.

Of course, I'm checking for any of that weird mistletoe just in case. After what happened the last time that stuff was floating around I'm not going to be blindsided by it!'

Well that's comforting. invadingbubbles January 3 2010, 01:16:32 UTC
"Ah?"

Wait, she knows that voice. Turning to where she thinks it's coming from, which is entirely the wrong direction.

"Kyonko-chan? Is this some sort of new event? Everything went dark."

"Over here," she said, now standing on the other side of where she was looking. Kyonko was about to make a snappy comeback when Itsuko mentioned everything going dark.

'Except it's broad daylight....'

"Maybe? It's still mid-day, Itsuko," she said, planting a hand on the other girl's shoulder to get to at least look in the right direction.

Itsuko jumped a little at the hand on her shoulder and turned, eyes unfocused, as if looking straight through Kyonko.

"I doubt the time of day would stop Infinity from deciding to turn out the lights. How did you find me?"

"Itsuko," Kyonko started, waving a hand in front of the other girl's face to check, "The lights are on. I can still see. So can everyo--"

'Okay, maybe not that guy across the street who just walked into a lamppost, but Itsuko doesn't need to know that.'

"So can almost everyone else."

Itsuko doesn't so much as blink, though she does seem mildly concerned.

"Really? That's worrying."

"It's probably Infinity messing with you. Things usually start happening around this time of the week and it should be gone by the weekend if it is."

'Except I can't help but wonder if it isn't. I know the first time I ran into Erk in Infinity, he couldn't even speak and a few people were having problems, too. Maybe this is that one all over again?

I never thought I'd wish for something to be Infinity screwing with us for once.'

"If it is, Infinity's being rather rude. I wonder why it would just target me, though, in that case. Are you absolutely certain that the other people around here can see?"

"Infinity doesn't do stuff to everyone at the same time and if other people are affected it might not be in the same way," she said slowly, keeping her hand on Itsuko's shoulder so she'd know where she was.

'You know, I have to wonder how it got to the point I'm explaining this stuff to the person who acts like she knows everything that's going on all the time and just won't tell me!'

"And I think more people would be panicking by now if they were blind, too."

"Ah, that makes sense. Besides, I'm not necessarily blind."

'Of course she doesn't give me a straight answer.'

"Itsuko: There's some crazy bastards here who won't hesitate to hurt people and take advantage of this sort of thing. Do you need help or not?"

'Because at this point I'm not even going to bother attempting to get any kind of confirmation on if something is effecting you or not.'

"Ah, I do seem pretty defenseless like this, don't I?"

No answer.

'Of course no answer.'

"With how superpowered and psychotic people around here can be? Yes, you are," she said with a sigh and then tugged on Itsuko's arm to get her up, "Where are you staying? I'm taking you home."

'I'm not having you getting hurt here on my conscience, no matter how insufferable you can be.'

She stands at the prompting pull, then looks a little sheepish about Kyonko's question. "I'm fine, really."

Evasive action, yes.
