Yeah, I've been bit by the Christmas bug. I've already got a bunch of my shopping done, too. -laughs-
My last few Holiday seasons have been less than grand. Comes with age, I guess. But I do love Christmas time, and I'd like it to be special. Everyone else should do this thing, too. I'd like to do what I can to fulfill wishes of others, and maybe get a little bit, too. But I don't need much. - 3-
Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ(( *--or DA). The post should contain your list of 5 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Harry/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real-life things(not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Step Two
-Surf around your friends list (or friend’s friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift
certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
- You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people
out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.
- There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
My Wishlist for 2011
- I would love this blanket. Especially since I'm working on moving, and not only would I like pony stuff, but what I'd like more if it were practical pony stuff. And I've been eyeing this blanket for a while, really.
- I hope they're back in stock soon... My good good pal carlomelo got me one of these but my grandmother accidentally broke the handle while washing dishes. My heart broke with it. ; 3;
- Super Nintendo games. I still play Super Nintendo! I've been after the Power Rangers game where it's a two-person Fighter. I have the side-scroller one.
- ART!! I love getting art. I love seeing folks draw my characters, or anything I might enjoy. That would be just splendid! (Icons, drawings, w/e. I love all of it!!)
- Sharks are cool. This is a cool shirt. I take a small. :3c
- Or! Letters! Cards! Drawings! Mail! I love mail! It's always a surprise! I don't like asking for much, really. Anything listed (except the shark top) are things I've been eyeing for a long while, but won't/can't buy for myself. Even though I may need them, ahaha. (like, the mug. ; 3;)
You guys all know what kinda shit I dig. I can't think of anything I -need- that isn't furniture or appliances ect for the move, ahahaha.
That's p much it!
If you need a mailing address, PM me and I'll pass it along.
Keep an eye out for my Christmas card post within the next week or so. I've p much finished the drawing for it, already. c:
