As brilligspoons is aware I have applied for a job at another casino. In recent months business has seriously declined to the point we're making half of what we were last year. It's also become a work place that the employees need to play politics instead of just being recognized for their accomplishments. During my vacation in May I received a text from my best friend at work (also the kid I've been dating for the past year) that said "Let's go to "X" Casino!". I thought he meant to gamble at first, but he meant for new jobs. So we applied, I got a call, interviewed and was hired on the spot. I'm waiting for my new gaming license to be processed and approved (new job is in Maryland). I'm also waiting for him to get a call. He hasn't received a phone call about a job, but he's looking for a poker job and this new casino doesn't have poker until the end of summer so we're not worried yet. I'm trying to convince him to apply for table games and then try and transfer to poker once he's hired if they don't call soon.
I'm going to commute for a bit until I can find a new apartment close to the PA/MD border. It's going to be rough. It's a 2 hour commute just one way, but I really do need this new job. It's more money and more opportunity to move up in a the business. If he gets a job there as well, we've decided to move in together as well. That's proving difficult to find houses that meet both of our wants. He wants a house with a fenced yard for his dog. I want 2 bathrooms because I don't want to share one. We both want a house over a townhouse because we want space. We're very needy.
Anyways point of this post is to say that I'll be starting a new job soon. I'm a little nervous, but should adjust hopefully.
