Eve, Day, After

My Christmas was alright. I was able to get what I wanted, my grandparents were here for the celebration, and everything went smoothly.

As the years go on, I noticed how this joyous season is around the media. It always seems as though there is a huge deal about the coming of Christmas starting sometime in September. There are some decorations out and holiday cheer with movies, music, and other stuff.

This year, Christmas Eve had a lot of TV movies and other specials airing. However, on the actual day, there was hardly anything good to watch. Some stations were playing some stuff while some played the same film over and over again. To make matters worse, there were "specials" on that had NOTHING to do with the holiday. I am not speaking about politics nor religion, but just some of the films and marathons had no Christmas, winter, or anything. And then the day after, it seems as though everything comes to a hault. The only thing that remains, at least here in Phoenix, AZ is the Christmas music playing. I may not be a fan of holiday music, but a few Christmas songs are still nice to hear, even after the 25th.

So maybe "planning the party is more fun the party itself" type deal can be applied to this overly commercialized day.
