There is a number of novels - Isaac Asimov in the first place - this makes me think of instantly, a few to mention:
Isaac Asimov
- Evidence
- Risk
- Naked Sun
Philip K Dick
- Second Variety
- Vulcan's Hammer
Robert Heinlein - The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
Stanislav Lem - The Invincible
Brian Aldiss - But Who Can Replace a Man?
Lord Dunsany - The Last Revolution
A. E. van Vogt - Fulfillment
...someone may call this creepy, to me it's close to that border. So close that it just tickles my inquisitivity-nerve...
I've always loved to read all those books and get sucked into that futu-techno world so that when I end the book I don't really know what millennium I am supposed to be in anymore xD ...and now it's starting to feel like I've really wondered into the pages of "The End of Eternity" or something. Brr o__O
Is it just me or ain't this just wonderfully exciting?
Dave: All right, HAL; I'll go in through the emergency airlock.
HAL: Without your space helmet, Dave, you're going to find that rather difficult.
Dave: HAL, I won't argue with you anymore! Open the doors!
HAL: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.
