Sorry, sometimes I like promoting random old posts in case some have missed them, or just jumped on the wagon later on. I don't know why, maybe just because I feel that my geniality/humor sometimes is overlooked and I want some re-affirmation xD

So I present you with This long non-PC stupid ass humor post and a story about My Caribbean cruise... ( Read more... )

I enjoyed your posting retrospective, but if you're having a tough week/month/year/lifetime and need some affirmation or re-affirmation - you just need to ask:

Look, you're creative and witty and fun and you like H. R. Giger and Gary Numan and all sorts of cool things. If you lived somewhere nearby, I'd be all like "we have got to hang out" and then I'd take you to Thursday night 80's night and point out how every 80s night in NYC always plays "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners. I'd then ask you what you think of The Fixx and whether you've listened to anything by Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark (or OMD) who were big in the 80s but unknown now. Then you could teach me how to pronounce nouns that have umlauts over them and what nagellackborttagningsmedel means since I don't speak Swedish.

Hopefully my silliness has cheered you up some and made you smile. For what it's worth, you're pretty cool. You care and you feel things deeply. That's rare these days. Don't let life get you down.

Haha, awesome, thanks :D yes, OMD is pure bliss in a tube for me, The Fixx I'm not all that familiar with. My current musical obsessions are It Bites' Calling out the Heroes, Lola Rennt soundtrack, John Carpenter and the Splash bands "Das Philadelphia Expeeriment" and Placebo's "See you at the Bitter End".

Nagellacksborttagningsmedel means nail polish remover!

Oh My God - someone covered John Carpenter!? I have most of his original soundtracks. I'll have to look into this.

Placebo totally rocks.

Have you listened to any of Vangelis' stuff? His soundtracks (like Blade Runner or The Bounty kick ass).

My head has trouble getting around making words that are more than twenty characters long. (;

Also, I clicked on the link to your website and it tells me it's not there.

Oh no, no cover. It's just presented as "The Splash Band" on the vinyl single's label.

VANGELIS ZOMG ORGASM-MUSIC. Blade Runner is my all time fave movie and that music just doubles the awesomeness...Gary Numan's "Love Needs No Disguise" opens in a very Blade Runnerish style.

Heh, me again I'm just a verbal acrobat, we have a monster-word in Finnish too: epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkääköhän. It looks like a cat walked all over the keyboard right? xD

...and, what link?

Vangelis totally rocks.

If you like the movie Blade Runner, you might want to give a look at Soldier with Kurt Russel. The guy who wrote the screenplay to Blade Runner wrote the screenplay for Soldier and it's set in the same "universe" as Blade Runner. Even though the two films have nothing to do with each other and are quite different, there are some odd moments between them.

Gary Numan is kick ass - although his last couple of albums have been kind of repetitive.

Okay. You got me. What does "epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkääköhän" mean? And how do you pronounce that!?

On your "user info" page there's an entry for a website, your link says "Meine liebe Platten" but the link is dead. Of course, it might have been a link not to your website but to a list of your favorite records - but what do I know?

While I'm at it - if your name is Camilla (which btw is a great name, you're the only Camilla I know) why do you go by Micki? Or am I missing something entirely?

ohh riiight...yeah that site is down. Have been mening to update my vinyl collection and put it on another site but just haven't been arsed to type up my 300+ records...

Micki is a botchered version of my name Camilla -> Cami - Mica - Micki

"epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydelläänsäkääköhän"...oh boy. Well, finnish works in a way that it uses prefixes, infixes and suffixes instead of separate words, like Suomi = Finland, Suomeen = TO Finland, Suomessa = in Finland, Suomesta = from Finland. So, the word is basically just suffix after suffix after suffix. So the meaning is something like "maybe not even with its having it done unorganisedly". It doesn't really serve any purpouse (hmm wonder why? :P), but it's fun to scare foreigners with xD
