Thanks Persiflage but I didn't need the hammer after all

Long awaited BRAINSECS finally turned up at about 7pm (relief! brainsecs ftw) and I was virtually asleep by 9, hanging on for CSI but watching most of it with my eyes shut ( Read more... )

What is "brainsecs"? Migraine? 'cos it's obviously not whatever I was thinking of when I saw the tag!

Anyway, I'm glad to slept!

Ah yes - sorry. Tis my weird Epilepsy type thing, came out of some random post on MQ when someone used the word to refer to their Grand Mal seizures.

Ah! I take it, from your comment in your post, that you are aware of when you're going to have one? I ask, 'cos my mum suffered from epileptic attacks (until they found and removed a small benign brain tumour), and she never knew when they were coming...

(Feel free to tell me to mind my own if you'd rather not discuss it...)

I get a goodly amount of warning yes. (Don't worry - it's so amusing a strange thing that I am more than willing to spread facts with a liberal trowel of TMI).

I only get them every 6 months (yay for seasonal weirdness!) and spring always brings a week of deliciously manic urges culminating in BRAINSECs and then sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Intriguing... You must have proved a curiosity to the medical people, but I bet you've got fed up of being poked, prodded, scanned, etc.

There were a number of delicious tests - oh yes. The COFFIN OF DOOM (also known as an MRI scanner) was interesting to say the least.

They've given up on me now. Partly because the time that they did the tests was always equidistant between seizures so there was never anything to see

Ugh! The idea of an MRI makes me shudder. (I know my mum never enjoyed having those!)

Well, really, that's a bit lazy of them, giving up already... :D
