Lily! Come and look! [She's standing by the door to the unused bedroom in their apartment looking ridiculously excited.]

[Wow, she is excited. Coming.] What is it?

I need to show you what Tom gave me for Christmas! You were asleep when they were here...

[Follows and gasps.] Where did he find that?!

He transfigured it! From a chair and a cushion and isn't it the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

He did? Wow, that's a really amazing job! [Will make the realization that the future Dark Lord has his wand LATER and flail accordingly, but that's later.]

I know! [Is also flailing, but with glee. And Lily might not flail when investigation proves that Tom's wand is still buried somewhere, therefore he has someone else's.]

Oh, I got something for you, too. Let me just go get it.

[That's all the more reason to flail as someone has lost their wand. And she's admiring the piano.] How does it sound? [Curious more than anything. Looking pretty is one thinking, but sounding good is better.]

You do? You got my present, right? I left it on your desk.

[Lost? Or gave? Or are we discussing different people? Here, have a red box with a silver bow. In it is a snow globe containing a single white calla lily.]

Lovely - rich and smooth. It's an excellent piece of magic. And I did, thank you!

[More reason to flail if someone gave the wand because it means someone is being manipulated. And she takes the box and opens it.] Wow. It's beautiful.

It really is, to get the sound right.

You're welcome.

[Someone is, and they don't quite realise it, because someone still has a layer of naïveté that needs dispelling.]

I know I took the easy road with the lily, and all, but I thought you might like it.

Erm. Do you play?

[That really should be addressed some day.]

Actually that's how most people think. I end up only rarely getting a lily that way.

Me? No. Never did learn a lot about instruments. All we ever got to play in elementary were recorders.

[There's a layer of stubbornness to get through first.]

Well, I'm glad to have roses and not daffodils on my scarf, so thank you very much.

Recorders? Oh, like bone flutes...

[Poor Lily. She has to deal with all the stubbornness. And of course she's not getting all the information.]

You made me think of white roses. It's what I did for the personalized scarves.

Yeah. We'd get strings for when we could do more complicated songs to put on it.

Innocence... thank you.

I had tutors for just about everything you can think of.
