Feeling talkative today, are you, Ginny?

Ron would say I'm always talkative. I know he thinks I never shut up normally, which is probably why it was so weird how quiet I got when I first met Harry. But that's only because I...

[SHUT UP.]

Oh, ha. Very nice, Herondale.

Just 'Herondale' now? I really must be in the dog house.

Don't think you're special just because I've done something different. D'you have any idea how bloody exhausting it is to say and write everything that comes to mind?

I think I'm special for both much more and much less. And no, I can't say I have any experience in the matter.

Lucky for you. I've been prattling on and on about the most idiotic stuff since I woke up this morning and honestly, I doubt people are as interested in brooms as I am to even bother listening so I'm just talking to thin air, really. It's all a bit useless.

It could be worse, I'm sure. You could be regaling all and sundry with the most fascinating stories and they could still not be listening.

True enough. Though I suppose it depends on a person's definition of fascinating as well. I mean, like I've said, I could ramble about brooms or fireworks or charms as much as I like but if someone's more interested in... Merlin, I don't know, biscuits then I'm at a bit of a loss, aren't I?

Not that it matters. I'd much prefer not being able to talk at all at this rate. It'll be a right miracle if I've any voice left at all after midnight. I expect even Arnold's tired of listening, never mind the whole network.

You can get some very interesting biscuits, I'll have you know.

What could possibly be more interesting than the chocolate ones?

Chocolate's quite dull, don't you think? There are plenty of other toppings, you know. Although I must admit, my allegiance lies with the digestive; there's nothing that goes better with a cup of tea.

Chocolate's just the thing to have after a nasty shock or a run in with Dark magic.

[Bollocks, did she just say that?]

Bollocks, I just said that. Absurd, of course. I've too much tea and packages of digestives and things sitting in the cupboards. It's what I get for being far too English and having a roommate who's American, I suppose.

[A soft hum of amusement.] You've already told me that magic exists in your world, Ginny.

I suppose so. They'll learn, of course.

Yes, but I've not told you that I'm just as magical, have I?

[...damn it.]

Damn, except for the part where I've only just said it. It's not like it's a massive secret or anything, I'm probably painfully obvious and how can't I be, it's a massive part of who I am, isn't it? But I'd have liked the idea of having a say in saying it, thanks so much, City. Lovely. There you go.

[Will's silent for a moment. The concept was amusing -- having to talk and having no control over what one actually said -- but in reality, it's far from amusing. He's a private person, and for as much as he's willing to pretend to be interested in the sordid details of everyone else's lives, he's not, not really.]

The non-magical are rarely aware of the magical, in my experience. It's not a surprise.
