People always think about the things that are right in front of them first. Mostly because they're right in front of them.

Yeah. Don't know why it's bothering me, really. I reckon I just don't like the feeling of settling here.

It's not like there's much of a choice. You either adapt and settle or go crazy. Not a lot of options.

Maybe I shouldn't, though. When Harry was here, that's what he kept on and on asking after. I don't know, I suppose I'm just getting loads of reminders all of a sudden and all I'm doing is... waiting tables and flying.

What kinds of reminders?

Nothing. Hermione, I guess. Something she brought with her. It's been ages since anyone from my world-well, from my time and my side-has showed up here. And she's more behind than the last time she was here and I know loads more than she does and it's... weird.

You should try not to think of it as some kind of unpleasant reminder. It's hard, but it's doable.

It isn't unpleasant. Not her being here, anyway. But I can tell she... there's something she needs to do and it's at home, of course. Same problem as all of us.

And I know I used to be more like that when I got here. Really sort of trying to get back to it all.

There's nothing you can do about things at home while you're here. All worrying about it is going to do is give you gray hairs.

Our world's war's managed to come here a few times before.

That's still here. Not worlds away where everything is paused.

I'm not saying don't think about home. I'm just saying thinking about home doesn't mean you have to stop thinking about here, where you are.

I know. I know. I'm just...

You know, you really should lock up my brooms somewhere and don't tell me where they are. I'm thinking too bloody much and it's driving me more than a little mad these days.
