[When the video snaps on, there's a flickering light like a candle in a dimly lit kitchen. The flame steadies, and in its glow, a grim-faced Ginny Weasley is somewhat visible. Then the flame peters out again. It's an early winter morning, so the darkness rushes back in to claim the picture, but just as it does, there's some movement in the shadows and the light returns with a flare, bigger and brighter, something of a modest fireball that bursts through the air then settles in the palm of Ginny's hand, fingers curved around it.
And now more things are visible. The normally cheerful young witch is sitting at the table with a scowl, freckled features marred by a split lip and a nicely bruised cheek. Whatever other injuries she sustained over yesterday's curse aren't visible or have been taken care of by her wand, but for now, she is concentrating on this peculiar new ability. There's an intensity to the way she is looking at the fire in her hand, because this isn't unlike a spell she's seen Professor Lupin or Hermione do. The fire is just a different colour, and she can feel the heat of this one a little more than those harmless bluebell flames from home.
She smothers the flames in her fist and tries one more time, something a little more delicate, just a flame at the tip of her thumb when she snaps her fingers together. Clearly she's been practicing with this new curse since midnight-it's not like she's slept yet. Finally, she glances to the camera, voice a little sharp with irritation and exhaustion.]
You know what, City? I'm not sure letting me play with wandless magic quite makes up for yesterday.
[There's a pause and she extinguishes her tiny flame with an explosive sigh, her next words muttered as she reaches for the device to shut it off.]
Or the two sodding years you've kept me here.
[ooc; backdated to around sunrise this morning! Ginny was indeed in the arena yesterday and if anyone saw her, she definitely did
hold her own. Nice way to ring in her 2 year anniversary in the City, too, don't you think? SOB. She is decidedly cranky with everything right now, but don't let her fool you - she is totally excited about the firebending/wandless magic thing. Seriously.]
