Ten Things I've Done That You (maybe) Haven't:
1. Squared danced with a local club in rural Costa Rica
2. Attended a wedding reception where Richard Gere was the brother of the bride
3. Shared a limousine with Tim Hardin on the way to his performance at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go in NYC
4. Greeted President Nixon in New Hampshire with a group of handicapped campers on Hiroshima Remembrance Day, with a threat to lose our jobs if we said anything about the day
5. Got my arm cast signed by Emmet Kelly Jr (the clown)
6. Did LGBT speaking engagements in Western Massachusetts for Deviant Sociology and Abnormal Psychology high school and college classes in 1974
7. Received a casual demo of the Jarvic-7 artificial heart from Dr Jarvic at Univ of Ariz Medical Center. I was walking down the hall and asked some guy in white “what is that?”
8. Played a lawyer extra in the pilot of a TV show about Boston lawyers. The series did not take off.
9. Was on the staff of a high-school age coffeehouse when Livingston Taylor and Odetta played there in 1970 (not together).
10. Traveled on a bus and 2 subways in Boston to reach a store to buy buttons. Blindfolded, with a white cane. In winter. G-d bless the Salvation Army bells on the corners!
