In the next 10 days I have to...
x Write a 30 page paper on American Psycho and how women are viewed in it
x Do more research for the paper mentioned above

you must be kidding. if you cut and pasted every substantive statement about women out of AP, it wouldn't be 30 pages. heck, it wouldn't be 3 pages.
i'd love to see this paper when your done with it.
the only thing i could even think about writing 30 pages about on AP would be the writing style.
*steps back to reconsider*
whose perspective do we see women from? 80's pop-media culture, the seemingly superficial veneer that's seen in TV commercials, Cosmo, runway shows. But these superficial commercialisms are so powerful and pervasive that they provide a matrix for how we think. Emotions and interpersonal reality are difficult to deal with, and we instead use the easy models of behavior that this media-pop matrix provides us.
Emotions and reality will tear through at times. In Patrick's case he tears back so he neither has to live within the matrix and deal with the conflicts that causes nor attempts to embrace reality for what it is. He creates his own irreality, that actively and brutally destroys both social veneer and any real sense of self.
*shrug*. I didn't mean to evoke the _Matrix_ analogy, but I suppose it works.
Anyway, i suppose there's meat for a paper in AP after all.
I'd be glad to give you a proof-read if you want it.

Well, it's not just that book, since it's a research paper, but the book is the main emphasis. But yeah, it's going to be tough and I'm probably screwed with this paper.
