Favorite movies
In "real" life, I can hardly find a person who has heard of Tori Amos yet online most are fans of her or people who hate her.
And that got me thinking about movies. Online a lot of people's favorite movies are Ghost World, Donnie Darko, Fight Club or a Kubrick movie. (In real life it's usually some Julia Roberts movie, Dirty Dancing, or if it's a guy: a "war" movie or some blockbuster starring Tom Cruise or Harrison Ford. ) American Beauty does seemingly hold true for both worlds though. The whole thing is not true of everyone I know in real life and online, but I have noticed it enough to stop and give it notice.
