I was searching through random pages on the internet about this years upcoming oscar potentials because I'm a loser and it's better than doing anything related to the words "college" and "application." Anywho, basically the jist of what I got from reading all of these sites was that Brokeback Mountain, Jarhead, Munich, Good Night and Good Luck, and Memoirs Of A Geisha are all fruntrunners for Best Picture....
But what stuck out in my mind and made me really happy for reasons beyond my control, was when they were talking about Best Original Screenplay. They said that one of the nominees was going to be Woody Allen for Match Point. Their reason:
He's Woody Allen. He will be nominated.
I went to imdb.com and found out some interesting trivia facts about him.....
- He has written, directed, and more often than not starred in a film just about every year [sometimes twice] since 1969
- He has been nominated for 20 oscars for writing, acting, and directing [won 3], 21 BAFTA awards [won 8], 18 Writer's Guild of America awards [won 4]
