Mr. Baggins Part II

Ok..so a few weeks back I wrote about the cute little beagle that I adopted from the pound...Frodo...sweetest little dog. When he was here I just loved on him, and he would snuggle up to me, but as soon as he saw a way out...he was gone. At least once a day he would figure some way out...we put chicken wire around the fence where we thought he was getting out...if I had a window open, he would nudge the window open to get out, I had to put a tray and cinderblocks to block the cat door (much to Chloe's dismay), because even though it is a VERY small cat door, he could somehow squeeze through it...one of the times that he got out, he made his way to a bus station and a guy called. The guy had said if we decided that we couldn't keep him, that he knew a couple of guys up at his shop that would make him a good home...well after escape after escape...I called the guy the following week and told him that I was willing to let someone else attempt be this little guy's keeper...so he and another guy came and got little Frodo. The guy that was going to take him, said he had several acres and that he give him a good home. So, over the past couple of weeks I have been missing him, but I knew it was probably for the best..Well...he's back. The boys were playing catch in the front yard, and a lady drove by asking if we were missing a beagle...so I went out and talked to the lady and I told her that we did have a beagle but that he had gone to a new home and that I highly doubted he could have found his way back here. She said she lived a couple of streets away and wanted to know if she could go get him and bring him to me and see if it was him...and I said sure, but I just couldn't see how it could be him. I went back in the house and told Brent and he was as doubtful as I was...he said, I can look in that dogs face and tell whether it is him or not...well she drove up and as soon as he saw me he tried to jump out the window...It's him..no doubt about it. So I called the guy that took him and he told me that the day he came and got him, he decided that he would take him because he thought he would make a good pet for his family and he lives on an acre near Lake Ray Hubbard. He took him to his house and the dog immediately figured out a way out and had been gone since that day that they took him. He explained that he lives 10 miles from our home. He wanted to come back and get him...but I am thinking, if the little guy traveled 10 miles to get back home, I think I owe it to him to give him another chance...so last night I held him like a little baby and he just snored away..when I took him outside he did his business then tried to come back in through the cat door (which I had blocked again)..so we shall see, if he decides to stay..
