[The woman (very barely at that) is settled into the chair by a pair of hands - a Father's hands, and he is the Father of humanity, one could certainly say - at her shoulders and a soothing voice, a low rumble of laughter and a petition to speak and be heard. She seems, all things considered, neither startled nor perturbed by this development - as ( Read more... )

Oh!

[Her eyes brighten, smile stretches to accommodate for a flash of teeth.]

But Father, here is no longer where it was before. I am almost certain that I am there. It is - exceedingly strange.

Yeah, Grandpa is in one of his moods where he thinks Olympus should be his and blah blah blah. Don't worry. He'll get over it soon enough or something, I don't know. But it's not so bad here!

Mine? Or yours? Though, very technically - [Her nose wrinkles, lips twitch into a moue.] Both are true, in a sense.

Where is here? Or there. The here that I am?

Mine, your grandpa is awesome. Mine is a douche. Yours is here.

Here is New York, the city that never sleeps and has all kinds of things to see!

Are they not both mine?

[The tone is inquisitive, but she appears to lose interest in this topic rapidly, trailing off without following the line of questioning any further or seeking clarification of any sort. There are more interesting things, really.]

Does it not get tired? I should be very weary if I were never to sleep.

You don't want mine. Don't claim him, he's gross. He may eat you, he's good at that.

It NEVER gets tired, that's the best part about it!

[Just text now. She's figured out - quite accidentally, we assure you, which buttons remove herself from the equation. It was growing quite tiresome to watch herself, really. There are mirrors for that sort of thing, if one wishes to be vain.]

I do not think that I would taste very good, Father.
Perhaps I am sour.

How does it -
That is a strange skill, I think,
for a city?
For an anything.

Aw button, you're not sour. You're perfect!

No, it's awesome! You and I will go out at 3 in the morning so you can see the greatness!

I hardly think that I could be considered anything of the sort.
But, perhaps, not as sour
as originally anticipated.
(Should you like.)

That does seem
rather early
or rather late.
I am uncertain.

Now, now, father's are always right, so of course it's true. And you're not sour, stop saying that. Your mother, on the other hand...

No it's great fun! Trust me! There's lots of interesting people to meet!

Father.
It is most impolite to speak of Mother so
and when she cannot defend herself.
No wonder she so constantly frowns.

Do  t h e y  sleep?

She frowns with or without me. Because she's sour.

Never!

Perhaps
but it is still
unnecessary to provoke
her when you do not have to.
My!
I am not certain that
I would enjoy such a lacking.

I'm not saying it to her face am I? So how can I provoke her if she's not hearing it, buttercup?

That doesn't mean YOU don't have to sleep! That's silly, and Ariadne would frown at me for keeping you out all night.

Mother is always very good at knowing -
I am unsure of the how, exactly
but she usually knows all the same. And frowns.

Good.
I am very fond of Sleep
and I should hate to miss it.
