.Jaejoong is the owner of Skip Heart! A host club that caters to the wealthy and elite (don't think too much of Ouran), with a twist. The pretty boys that service the men aren't just eye-candy, they can also be sponsored (to earn extra perks in benefits). Jaejoong thinks he's off limits, but in the world of Jung Yunho, he belongs to him.
author's note: this chapter turned out a bit weird. and maybe boring too, i don't know. i love this song though, so i hope you all enjoy it as much as i do.
Dates... and a Kiss?
Jaejoong stared at Kyuhyun for a second a bit surprised that he was back here. The only patrons that came back to his office were the ones looking for a host to sponsor and as long as Kyuhyun had been coming here (which was going on three or four years), he'd never once came to see him personally or showed even an ounce of interest in any of his hosts. Jaejoong was only too excited to find out who Kyuhyun wanted to sponsor, but first he had to deal with Yunho.
"Yunho-yah, I'm sorry (not really) but it seems as if you'll have to leave, I have important matters to see to."
"Then you can see to them while I am here," The nerve...! Jaejoong thought to him-self, but before he could voice his outrage Kyuhyun stepped into the room and bowed to Yunho.
"Hello Yunho-shi," He then looked at Jaejoong whose pale cheeks were colored red with anger. "It's okay Jaejoong-shi, I don't mind."
Jaejoong wanted to tell Kyuhyun that he did mind though, but he knew that there was no point in arguing the issue. Jaejoong glared over at Yunho who was smirking back at him. Jaejoong closed his office door and gestured for Kyuhyun to have a seat as he him-self did too, Yunho coming over to stand beside him.
"Well, Kyuhyun-ah, this is quite a surprise, so which one of my beautiful boys have stolen your heart?"
"Changmin," Jaejoong's mouth fell open.
"Jae, your mouth is open." Yunho said as he checked his nails. Jaejoong closed his mouth and then sighed. He knew this would happen; his son was just too gorgeous.
"It's only his first night and already he has a sponsor, he truly is my son." Jaejoong sniffed, before fixing Kyuhyun with a look that could peel paint. "I'm more than aware that you will be able to take care of my Changmin-ie properly, as your firm is doing very well and is one of the biggest in the country. However, I must tell you that Changmin is a special case, he's... well, he's my son."
Kyuhyun nodded. "I understand that Jaejoong-shi, and I also understand that we only got to meet each other briefly. But I have never been more taken with a person than I was with Changmin. I understand that I cannot be his sponsor unless he agrees to it, but I also know that if I stake a claim on him, no one else can."
Jaejoong made to nod his head and tell him that that was true, when his office door opened once again and Changmin stepped inside with a tall man that Jaejoong recognized immediately. He stood up:
"Leehom-shi, I did not know you were here tonight?"
"Jaejoong-ah, it is so good to see you, I wanted to see you privately, but it looks as if you're busy with someone else at the moment." He wasn't looking at Kyuhyun though, he was looking at Yunho. Yunho stepped closer to Jaejoong, wrapping a possessive arm around his waist.
"I hope you're not here to sponsor Jaejoong-ie, because then we're going to have a problem."
"Will you stop it Yunho!" Jaejoong snapped. "Leehom-shi has never been interested in me."
"Oh, quite the contrary Jaejoong, I've always been interested in you, but since you're off-limits I've set my sights on someone else." Jaejoong blushed and as a result Yunho pulled him closer all the while glaring daggers at Leehom. Changmin was staring at Kyuhyun remembering his face from his table earlier and wondering why he was back here. Kyuhyun was returning the stare, his expression rather serious.
"I'm very flattered Leehom-shi, really." Jaejoong threw a smirk over his shoulder at a simpering Yunho, before turning his gaze to Changmin who was looking a bit uncomfortable. "Minnie, come here, Leehom-shi you can sit down if you like." Leehom did just that.
Jaejoong looped his arm with Changmin's, and turned to Leehom. He was really curious to know who the older man wanted to sponsor as he'd always come for the entertainment and quality alcohol only. He was a down to earth man who didn't seem interested in the whole sponsorship aspect of Skip Heart. It had also never even occurred to Jaejoong that Leehom might swing that way, so he was definitely anxious to know who he'd like to sponsor.
"Kyuhyun-ah here has is also interested in sponsoring someone, I was surprised with his visit as well, so before we continue, Leehom-shi, who exactly are you interested in sponsoring?"
Leehom smiled and then looked directly at Changmin. "Why, your son of course, Changmin." Jaejoong's eyes were wider than saucers. How could it be possible that Changmin had caught the eye of two men on the same night who had decided to come and sponsor him at the same time? This had never happened before, and Jaejoong was for the first time at an absolute loss for words. Changmin on the other hand was looking like he was having trouble breathing as he stared back at Leehom in shock.
Kyuhyun stood up rather roughly nearly knocking his chair back, his glare enough to melt Leehom's head off his shoulders.
"Wow, Jaejoong-ie," Yunho began pressing his body into Jaejoong's back and leaning toward his ear. "I had no idea this club of yours was so interesting."
Yoochun had finally managed to catch up with Junsu as the other man was passing by the stage, Jonghyun could be seen on it getting ready for his performance. He waved over to Junsu, who glad for the distraction went right over.
"Hey Junsu-hyung, is it near closing time? Jaejoong told me that he booked the stage for me tonight, but I haven't seen him since I got here, do you mind getting him for me? He's the only one that can quiet everyone down long enough for me to do my show."
"I'm on it Jonghyun-ah, did you need any help setting up?"
Jonghyun looked around him; all he really needed was a piano, the right lighting and quiet. "No, I'm good." As long as Key didn't try to attack him again, that is.
"The club closes at two, so you have enough time, just worry about setting up and I'll take care of Jaejoong-ah." Jonghyun smiled at him, and nodded. He then waved to Yoochun who winked back at him before following off after Junsu, who stopped suddenly forcing Yoochun to run into his back. Yoochun wasted no time in snaking his arms around the shorter man's waist.
"Chunnie, what if Changmin-ah has already told on me and Jaejoong-ie is just waiting for me to walk through his office door so he can kill me?" Yoochun just squinted his eyes not sure in how he should answer. Junsu looked at him from over his shoulder: "You go in first."
"This is very unusual," Jaejoong began slowly. "You mean to tell me that the two of you are here to sponsor Min-ah?"
"I wasn't under the impression that I had any competition," Leehom said glancing over at Kyuhyun.
Jaejoong ignored Yunho's close proximity and turned to Changmin, who turned his head to look back at him. Jaejoong worried at his bottom lip for a second and then turned back to Kyuhyun and Leehom.
"This isn't my decision to make; it is only Changmin-ah's first day, so I think he needs some time to sort this out."
"I was here first," Kyuhyun cut in, throwing Leehom a daggered look. "And I wanted it to be where only I could lay claim on Changmin."
"Yes, you were, but that is only if there is mutual affection involved, and at this early point there isn't. If at some point Changmin does become interested in you then I will consider it, but at this point he’s fair game."
"So, how do we go about doing this?" Kyuhyun wondered. He was not one to back down from a challenge, especially if it involved something he wanted. And he had never wanted anyone more than Choi Changmin.
"Well, under the circumstance that more than one person is interested in sponsoring the same person, we put together a series of dates in which the host and the patron can get to know each other and build up a relationship with one another. However, that's only if the host agrees to it." Jaejoong was rubbing Changmin's back now, his gaze soft as he looked at him. "Min-ah, you don't have to go through with it if you don't want to, it's really up to you. Though I can say both Kyuhyun-ah and Leehom-shi are good patrons and I have no doubt that they will take care of you."
Changmin nodded his head. In the end this really was his decision. He didn't know either man, but he'd spent some time with Leehom, so Changmin leaned more towards him. The man was older, making him more mature and knowledgeable. Leehom was also kind in a genuine way that didn't seem forced or fake. Changmin honestly wouldn't mind being sponsored by him, or having sex with him. On the other hand he didn't think it would be fair to write Kyuhyun off without at least getting to know what kind of person he was. He seemed to be Changmin's age, but just like Changmin he gave off an aura of maturity that belied his age. So, after thinking it over, Changmin figured that he could give both of them a chance. It couldn't hurt, right?
"I can do that," Changmin finally said, looking up at both Kyuhyun and Leehom. "The date thing I mean. I don't know if I want to be sponsored, but I don't mind getting to know the two of you a little more."
Leehom nodded. "That is fine with me, I wouldn't want you to do anything you weren't comfortable with doing."
"I don't think my heart can take this," Jaejoong breathed as he leaned over his table to write their names down on his notepad. His hosts’ received potential sponsors every day; he had to keep up with them somehow. "Since Kyuhyun did ask for him first I think it's only fair that he gets the first date, tomorrow afternoon before Skip Heart opens, is that fine?"
"It is," Kyuhyun agreed. Leehom just nodded a perfect smile on his face. The door then opened again and Yoochun strolled into the room, Junsu sneaking in behind him. Yoochun's eyes met Yunho's and he grinned.
"Yunho-ah, did you succeed?" Yunho shrugged.
"Not yet, but I'm not worried." Jaejoong rolled his eyes then noticed Junsu trying to hide behind Yoochun.
"Junsu, weren't you supposed to be with Changmin-ah tonight?" Junsu flinched.
"He sure was hyung," Changmin answered for him. "Junsu-hyung left me all alone, but luckily I ran into Leehom-shi and with his help I found out why Junsu-hyung had abandoned me."
Jaejoong eyes were narrowed in Junsu's direction as he asked Changmin what reason Junsu could have possibly had to leave him all by him-self, with no clue on what to do or how to be a proper host, on his first night.
"I'll take full blame for that one Jae; I just needed Junsu's help with something. Junsu was just being a good sponsor." Jaejoong didn't buy that excuse for one second, but decided that he would deal with Junsu later, and ban Yoochun from dragging Junsu off and having his way with him inside of his club.
"Was there something you wanted to ask me Junsu? The club is only going to be open for a little while longer and Changmin-ah still doesn't know what to do. He's going to have to work extra hard tomorrow, so that he will finally be able to do it on his own."
"Jonghyun-ie is about to perform, but since you're the only person who can quiet down the patrons he wanted me to come get you."
"Alright, Junsu could you please escort Leehom-shi and Kyuhyun-ah out for me? Changmin you follow him and observe as this is one of the things that will be expected of you as a host. The two of you are welcome to stay for the show if you like, it's not mandatory or anything."
"I'd very much like to stay," Leehom said turning to walk toward the door. "Your hosts certainly know how to put on a good show." He glanced over at Changmin, perhaps remembering the younger going off on Junsu earlier, however, Changmin looked away. That same nervousness had overtaken him and was making him shy. Kyuhyun pulled at the buttons on his dress shirt, wondering if Leehom's nice guy act was for real or if he was just trying to get brownie points by being overly chivalrous.
"Min-ah we will talk about this once we get home, okay?"
Changmin nodded and waited for Junsu to usher Kyuhyun and Leehom out the door before following behind him. The two began to bicker, so Yoochun closed the door instead, throwing a rather suggestive grin at Yunho and Jaejoong on his way out. Jaejoong just stared at the closed door for the moment, now that he was alone with Yunho he didn't quite know what to do with him-self.
"You brought up an interesting prospect Jaejoong-ie, I believe in order for you to warm up to the idea of me being your sponsor, we should get to know each other once again, by going out on a date."
Jaejoong glanced at Yunho who stared back. "I'll think about it, but I make no promises. I should escort you out, though you can stay if you want. It's not like you're going to leave just because I want you to."
"Do you perform?" Yunho asked conversationally as he followed Jaejoong to the door, then down the hall.
"I perform sometimes, but I haven't performed in more than a year. I've been too busy running Skip Heart." Yunho looked thoughtful as they entered the main area of Skip Heart, Jaejoong throwing a smile in Heechul's direction who looked as if he were about to break a bottle over someone's head. There was a huge crowd over by the stage and Jaejoong broke away from Yunho to go see what the commotion was. Only to find Sungjong, sweating slightly, dancing like it was no one's business.
He made his way over to him and grabbed his arm, stopping him. Sungjong gave him a sheepish look.
"Ah, sorry hyung, I got bored and they kept begging me to dance..."
"That's what the stage is for Sungjong-ie, look, you're sweating." Sungjong ran his head across his wet forehead and blanched. "It's almost closing time, so go and get changed, Jonghyun-ie is about to perform."
Sungjong nodded and ran off. Jaejoong glared at the men who had been egging Sungjong's little dance on and they looked away, as if afraid Jaejoong's stare would turn them to stone. Jaejoong then made his way onto the stage offering Jonghyun, who looked a bit nervous as this was his first time, a smile.
"You'll do fine," Jaejoong whispered to him before demanding everyone within earshot to shut the hell up. "Jonghyun-ah here is a one of our newer hosts; he has only been working here for a year and has gathered up enough courage to sing a song that he has been working on for quite a while. So, treat him well!"
Jonghyun dressed a bit awkwardly in a tight red shirt and some skinny jeans approached the mic, and then smiled in waved out at the patrons of Skip Heart who just stared back at him.
"Er... yea, the song I am going to sing to you tonight is called Y Si Fuera Ella. Here I go." Jonghyun turned away from the mic and then walked over to the piano where he sat down, took a deep breath and began to sing:
Jonghyun breathed out; catching on to all the applause he was receiving a bit late as he had been so lost in the emotions of the song. Key was glaring up at him, though his stare wasn't unkind. Jonghyun bowed to the patrons before getting down on one knee to smile at Key who slapped his arm.
"That wasn't bad, for a dinosaur."
"I guess I'll take that as a compliment," Jonghyun said with a laugh before stopping abruptly as he saw someone he'd never seen before walking toward the stage, a single red rose in his hand. The other man who appeared to be Jonghyun's size in height, stopped next to Key who regarded him with a raised brow. He held the rose out and Jonghyun took it slowly a confused expression on his face. "This is for me?"
"Yea, don't think much of it... that was a great performance by the way." For some reason both of them looked over at Key, who jumped slightly at being looked at so suddenly, he then got the hint and stormed off in a huff. Jonghyun looked back at the man and then the rose in his hand. "My name is Park Jaebeom; I don't come here a lot, so..."
Jaebeom looked a bit uncomfortable and Jonghyun decided to help him out by laughing, a light blush coloring his cheeks.
"Uh, thanks. I mean... I..."
"This is a bit uncomfortable; I think I better just go." Jaebeom had already turned and walked off before Jonghyun could stop him.
Jaejoong who had been standing next to Yunho turned his head away and wiped at the tears that had settled into his eyes, his action seemingly lost in the uproarious applause that had swept throughout Skip Heart. However, it did not go unnoticed by Yunho who grabbed his chin and turned his face toward him, where he without warning leaned in and gave Jaejoong a kiss.
"Is Yunho kissing Jaejoong?" Yoochun asked. Him and Junsu had been standing near the stage as well, Junsu who looked a bit choked up followed Yoochun's gaze, his mouth slackening a bit. "I think we should follow suit Su-su, what do you think?" Junsu elbowed him in the stomach again. Then turned when someone placed a hand on his shoulder, it was Changmin.
"Why is that guy kissing hyung?" And more importantly why is Jaejoong letting him kiss him? Junsu shrugged. He noticed Leehom and Kyuhyun were still in the club, so they had stayed behind to watch Jonghyun's performance just as they said they would, well Leehom said he would, Kyuhyun most likely stayed so the older man wouldn't try anything slick with Changmin to put him-self more in his favor.
"Did you two enjoy the performance; he's one of Skip Heart's most promising singers." Junsu praised.
"I wonder," Leehom mused. "Do you let patrons perform as well?"
"Are you interested in performing? We've never had one perform before, but if you want to I'm sure Jae wouldn't mind adding you to the lineup." Leehom nodded, looking pleased with him-self. Behind him Kyuhyun just rolled his eyes.
"The club will be closing in a bit Min-ah, so how about you see these two out."
Changmin looked like he'd rather do anything but that, but sighed and motioned for them to follow him to the exit.
Jaejoong pulled back from the kiss his gaze a mixture of anger and something else. He looked away.
"You should know me by now Jae; I don't give up especially if it's something I really want."
"I'll walk you to the door, I still have to make sure everyone gets out and lock up."
"I'm not leaving without an answer,"
"You aren't going to leave until I say yes, are you?" Jaejoong was pouting a little now. The smile Yunho gave him only answered his question, and Jaejoong really had to stop him-self from choking Yunho or kneeing him in the groin. "Fine, I'll go out on a date with you, but I have work."
"We can do it after you get off work,"
Jaejoong cocked a brow. "Yunho, Skip Heart closes at two in the morning."
"Are you going to walk me to the door or not?" Yunho said instead, waiting for Jaejoong to step in front of him. He looked him over when he finally did. "You look really good tonight Jae, do you dress like this all the time?"
"I dress like this because I want to; I don't dress like this all the time though. It is required for the hosts though, the one's that can get away with it at least, the hosts who aren't androgynous just dress flamboyantly."
He led Yunho toward the exit; Skip Heart was already beginning to clear out as it normally did after performances. Jaejoong bowed to them as they walked pass him, wishing them a good night, Yunho glaring anyone who got too close to Jaejoong into submission. It wasn't until Skip Heart was nearly empty that Yunho decided to leave, pulling out his cell phone so that he could save Jaejoong's number into it. Jaejoong entertained the thought of giving him the wrong number, but realized how pointless that would be seeing as how Yunho knew where he worked, and probably even where he lived.
Yunho kissed his forehead, wished him a good night and left. Jaejoong wanted to say that he was relieved to finally be rid of Yunho, but he knew that that wouldn't be the whole truth. He couldn’t deny how much his heart had fluttered when Yunho had kissed him after Jonghyun’s performance, or how much he ached to feel his lips again (he’d forgotten how good of a kisser Yunho was). Heechul had already shut down the bar; he walked over to Jaejoong and the two exchanged glances.
"I haven't seen Hangeng-shi here in a while, the two of you are still talking I hope."
"Of course we are, I'm also thinking about letting him be my sponsor, but don't tell him I said that. About him not being here, he's been over in Hong Kong shooting a movie, but he's back now, so we're going to spend some time together." Jaejoong looked pleased to hear that. Heechul gave him a critical stare, before leaning closer to his face. "Yunho-ah wants to sponsor you doesn't he?"
"How did you--"
"I don't just mix drinks behind that counter you know, you have the worst luck Jaejoong-ah, and I mean that in a good way." Heechul walked out after that, leaving Jaejoong with a number of questions on his mind. The main being, did Heechul and Yunho know each other as well as what the hell had he gotten him-self into by agreeing to go out on a late night, or late morning date with Jung Yunho (also known as: his ex Jung Yunho)?
Bad luck, indeed.
