This morning, there was a patient, a kitten with severe illness.
As usual I was sitting on my post, filling several patient forms, when I suddenly heard a crying voice. It turned out it was the owner's voice, crying her heart out because an euthanasia had to be performed.
I couldn't look at her in the eyes as she left the clinic and told me she would pay later, she needed to go home.
Then in the afternoon, there was one annoying owner whose puppy died today, and he told the vet to "do what you want with this. I usually just wrap it in plastic and throw it in the garbage or in the river."
For some reason I felt so angry.
He treated his puppy as if it was an empty shampoo bottle.
So different from the girl whose kitten died.
How can people be so heartless to their pets?
Okay I don't even have one and not that much of animal lover but seriously, throwing your dead pet away?
Unthinkable....
