[OOC] Character Relationships~

May 24, 2007 02:41

Okay, it's been a while and I've acquired three more characters. So it's time for a relationship meme! Comment with the characters you play, and I'll tell you what the characters I play think of them! (I'll complete this one, promise.)

(Going to bed, then work in the morning. So leave me something to write about when I return, kay~? |D)

Setsuna and Konoka first, while I'm thinking of it! Th-This might get kinda long, ahahaha.

When it comes right down to it, Konoka is Setsuna's most important person, bar none. She'd give her life for her, stand alone against an army if she had to. Konoka means more to her than life itself... In short, Setsuna loves her, with all of her heart. But obviously it's not going to be that easy. Over time, she built up a shield of rationalizations to lock those feelings away. "I'm not worthy of her", "it's not right to feel this way about another girl", "ojousama will need to marry and produce an heir", "she could never see me the same way", "it would interfere with my duty to protect her", "she's the daughter of the Chief of the West and I'm only a foolish half-monster"... Y-Yeah, I could probably come up with more. She practically managed to convince herself she didn't feel anything. Setsuna's power of denial is robust.

Or it was. The funny thing is, since they came to camp, Setsuna has been dealing with those issues a lot faster than I'd expected. Chizuru's shameless, persistent nudging did a lot -- and it helped to see that Chisame and Chizuru were together and that it was okay -- but it was Asuna's matter-of-fact acceptance that really put the nail in her denial's coffin. The thought of confessing still terrifies Setsuna, but all those rationalizations... are starting to sound hollow now. She's finally beginning to admit to herself that yes, maybe this really is love. And maybe there's hope for it.
