A Christmas story

Dec 26, 2005 22:52

Despite the fact that evangelicals were whining that December 25 was slowly turning into Christmas, some of their megachurches cancelled Christmas morning services.

{sneeze}Hypocrites!{/sneeze}

So a trinity of cheers to my church, who in deference to the Christmas/Sunday convergence only postponed Sunday School, leaving the 11:00 service untouched. As church pianist, this did pose a bit of a problem for me as my grandfather's house -- 75 minutes away -- is always scheduled for Christmas morning.

To assuage any guilt I may have had, I whipped up Christmas breakfast -- apple-cinnamon oatmeal plus raspberry or French vanilla hot chocolate -- to all involved and left for church about 9:00. (Since my uncle and aunts had not yet arrived, nobody opened presents before I left.)

And although we're not supposed to keep score, I'd like to think that my God scored another one over Duh's God.
