Day 4: Hail to thee, Portlandia (7/25)

FEDERAL WAY WA -- Some days I believe Chad is out to sabotage me.

We always have strong discussions over whether we should sleep in during our vacation trips, or try to squeeze as much in. Once again, my point was proven, as we ultimately spent nearly 90 minutes crossing back into the US. If Donald Trump wants my vote, he can think of a better way to expedite my re-entries into the good ol' USofA.

The delay frustrated me, as we arrived at the Mariners' game during the 3rd inning. More frustrating, I paid $40 for immediately adjacent parking. And despite a three-run homer from Yankee transplant/Mariners second baseman Robinson Canó, Seattle allowed Toronto (and its large contingent of Canadian fans in the ballpark) to go home happy with a 8-3 win.

To cheer ourselves up, Chad offered to pay for tickets to the Experience Music Project Museum, shorthanded as "EMP". While focusing on musicians as Jimi Hendrix and the grunge scene, EMP also had museum pieces referencing everything from Dr Who to Whoville.

For dinner, Chad wanted to try yet another of his Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives places, but with something called the Torchlight Parade, downtown streets were blocked off and Elyse couldn't recalculate a workable detour. So instead, we headed back to the hotel, and discovered nearby one of Chad's hidden favorites from Utah -- the Black Bear Diner.
