I'm still here. Apparently, spending eight hours a day flicking back and forth between local and remote computer screens looking at insurance claims puts me off posting on LJ. Facebook-posting is quick and painless by comparison.
So, for your consideration, a new word:
Friend-in-law A relationship created when a person's friend marries someone.
As with other in-law relationships, friends-in-law can be favorable or antagonistic. (Consider the wife that breaks up hubby's poker nights with the guys once they get married.)
So imagine the joy I got when my friend-in-law Kim thanked me for showing her how to put the ñ in piñata. Ah, simple gifts.... (And if anybody has any birthday-party ideas for an 8-year-old girl, I'm willing to forward them to her.)
