Speaking of "oh no"s

Laura (and her sister) haven't been in my Sunday School class for a good while. And while that's usually chalked up to them visiting one set of grandparents or the other on most weekends, I heard news yesterday that gave me pause.

Apparently, over the last month, Laura has been suffering from migraine headaches severe enough to the point of distraction, affecting her schoolwork. She has been to three local neurologists; none has yet pinpointed a cause. If nothing can be determined here, her parents are considering a trip up to Cleveland Clinic.

Given the as-yet-unknown cause, my mind runs wild with possible diagnoses. (I've gotta stop watching House.)

Meanwhile, Marlea's problem is a lot more diagnosable.

It seems there was a microscopic tear in her esophagus, allowing stomach acid to bubble up and out. That's been patched.

However, the related H. pylori bacteria is now rumbling around her tummy. Tests have been done (results pending) to determine if there are any ulcerations to the stomach.
